Marvel Strike Force Inhuman Royal Family

Team Composition and Overview

Marvel Strike Force Inhuman Royal Family is widely regarded as one of the strongest offensive teams across nearly every game mode. The core lineup typically includes Black Bolt, Yo-Yo, Crystal, Karnak, and Classic Ms. Marvel. These characters form the primary focus for strategic play and team upgrades in Marvel Strike Force. Although Medusa is the Queen of the Inhumans and possesses leadership abilities in other games, the main Inhuman team for Marvel Strike Force centers on the five characters mentioned, making them essential for building an effective Inhuman squad.

Core Strengths and Playstyle

The Inhumans in Marvel Strike Force are recognized as a premier offensive team with multiple strengths. They excel at clearing buffs from enemies and applying debuffs, with Black Bolt’s basic ability and Yo-Yo’s assists playing key roles in stripping positive effects. Yo-Yo can apply Offense Down while Karnak applies Defense Down, enhancing the team’s damage output. Their area of effect damage is significant, making Karnak’s Defense Down especially impactful against multiple foes. Crystal contributes to board control by applying Slow with her basic ability, limiting enemy actions for two turns. In terms of sustain, Black Bolt’s upgraded passive increases the maximum health of Illuminati characters in the Cosmic Crucible mode, bolstering the team’s durability during prolonged fights.

Individual Character Breakdown and T4 Priority

Black Bolt is a key character in Marvel Strike Force, often described as a “plug-and-play” hero who significantly enhances any team he joins. Considered one of the top three characters in the game as of early 2024, he is essential for maximizing the potential of the Inhumans team. Black Bolt is a Hero, Cosmic, Bio, Blaster, Inhuman, Illuminati, and Legendary character, boasting the highest base attack stats in the game. He delivers excellent area-of-effect and single-target damage, can bypass Taunts, and removes buffs from enemies. Recommended Iso-8 sets for Black Bolt include Striker or Raider, especially when paired with his Illuminati teammates. His Tier 4 ability priorities start with his passive, which significantly boosts damage and increases the maximum health of Illuminati characters in the Cosmic Crucible, making it one of the best passives in the game. His basic ability clears two positive effects on each hit and grants a damage increase, synergizing powerfully with Yo-Yo’s assists. His ultimate is highly effective, dealing massive damage to all enemies, particularly when combined with buffs like Offense Up and Defense Down, making it invaluable in raids. His special ability offers additional value if extra Tier 4 resources are available but is usually the last priority. Black Bolt performs exceptionally well across all game modes, including Arena, Alliance War, Blitz, Raids, Dark Dimension, and Cosmic Crucible.

Yo-Yo serves as a vital support and debuffer within the Inhuman team. She is fast but deals low damage due to her protector role. Her basic ability is essential, calling an assist attack with each use, which helps keep enemy teams free of buffs, especially in combination with Black Bolt during raids. Her passive applies Offense Down reliably, though it is considered less critical for Tier 4 investment. Her special and ultimate abilities generally do not warrant Tier 4 upgrades due to their limited impact and damage output.

Crystal functions as a controller and AoE damage dealer. She is a Hero, Cosmic, Bio, Blaster, and Inhuman with two AoE abilities and the capacity to clear negative effects. Raider Iso-8 is recommended for Crystal, enhancing her damage and enabling her to apply Vulnerability to all enemies. Her passive is the highest Tier 4 priority, improving healing and clearing negative effects to sustain the team. Her basic ability applies Slow for two turns, aiding board control, and is a useful secondary priority. Her special and ultimate abilities offer minimal damage improvements and generally do not merit Tier 4 investment, though her ultimate’s stun can be impactful with high red stars despite its long cooldown. Crystal performs solidly across most game modes.

Karnak acts as a controller by applying Defense Down and providing Focus to the Inhumans. He is classified as a Hero, Cosmic, Skill, Controller, and Inhuman. His effectiveness is often questioned, with some players viewing him as less impactful than other Inhumans. Raider or Skirmisher Iso-8 sets are situationally recommended. His passive Tier 4 upgrade is justifiable, increasing Focus for Inhuman allies and applying Defense Down when enemies lack positive effects, which helps in modes like Blitz. However, his other abilities typically do not warrant Tier 4 investment due to long cooldowns or limited usefulness. Karnak’s overall performance is consistent but not exceptional across game modes.

Classic Ms. Marvel plays the role of an energy provider and fits well with the Young Avengers team. However, she is generally not prioritized for Tier 4 upgrades within the Inhuman team.

Key Team Synergies

Black Bolt and Yo-Yo form a powerful duo in Marvel Strike Force, especially effective in raids. Yo-Yo’s assists enable Black Bolt’s basic attack to clear four debuffs each round, ensuring enemies remain nearly buff-free throughout the fight. Karnak’s ability to apply Defense Down further amplifies the team’s strong area-of-effect damage, making their attacks more devastating. Crystal’s slowing effects help the Inhumans maintain a turn advantage by reducing enemy actions, allowing the team to control the battlefield more effectively. Additionally, Black Bolt’s upgraded passive increases the maximum health of Illuminati teammates in Cosmic Crucible, enhancing the team’s survivability during prolonged engagements.

Counter Strategies (Against and For)

The Inhumans in Marvel Strike Force serve as a strong offensive counter, particularly effective at eliminating challenging Asgardian teams in War mode. They also excel against Red Skull and Hydra compositions, as Black Bolt’s knockouts prevent enemy respawns, disrupting these teams’ strategies. To counter the Inhumans, it is effective to neutralize Yo-Yo by using characters with high resistance or those who can flip debuffs. Targeting Black Bolt with powerful attacks, stuns, or slows can reduce his impact. Blinding Black Bolt interrupts his passive ability, which prevents summoner disruption; however, Crystal can clear this blind effect if Black Bolt’s health drops below 50%. The Black Order team can perform moderately well against Black Bolt and the Inhumans, and some players have reported success defending with this lineup. For specific challenges like the Nexus 8-5 Inhuman node, counter teams featuring Thor, Loki, Minn-Erva, Hela, and Captain Marvel have proven effective. Due to trait requirements such as Kree, Guardians, and Asgardians, incorporating Asgardian characters is recommended, with possible substitutions like Minn-Erva for healing or Star-Lord for blinds and energy support for Hela.

Character Acquisition

Black Bolt is obtained through the Legendary Event titled “Unite the Kingdoms Unlock Event,” which is designed to test players’ abilities to field and develop teams composed primarily of Asgardian or Mystic Hero characters. This event requires completing a series of challenging missions that demand a combination of strategy, team synergy, and character progression at certain star ranks to unlock Black Bolt. The event structure encourages players to invest in and develop these specific traits, making Black Bolt not only a powerful addition to the Inhumans team but also a reward for dedicated progression in related character pools. Yo-Yo is available through the Raid Store, where she can be purchased in increments of 20 shards for 2800 Raid Credits. This allows players who consistently participate in raids and accumulate Raid Credits to steadily unlock and upgrade Yo-Yo over time. The Raid Store provides a reliable means to acquire key characters like Yo-Yo, especially for players focused on building strong support and debuff capabilities for their teams.

Crystal can be obtained via the War Store, which requires 2000 War Credits per 20 shards. Since War Credits are earned through participation in Alliance Wars, this method encourages engagement in team-based competitive play, offering a consistent way to farm shards for Crystal. Her availability in the War Store makes her accessible for players actively involved in Alliance Wars, ensuring that they can steadily build and enhance her abilities through regular gameplay. Karnak is farmable from the Cosmic Campaign, specifically Mission 2-6. Each attempt costs 20 energy and awards 4 shards, with up to five attempts allowed per energy refresh. This setup allows players to focus on completing campaign missions repeatedly, gradually accumulating Karnak’s shards while progressing through the Cosmic Campaign content. Farming Karnak through the campaign provides a steady, energy-efficient method to unlock and develop him over time, making him accessible even to players who prefer solo PvE content.

Ms. Marvel (Classic) is farmable from the Villains Campaign, particularly Mission 3-6. This mission costs 12 energy per attempt and grants 4 shards each time, with a maximum of five attempts per refresh. Similar to Karnak, this farming route provides players with a steady and manageable way to collect shards for Ms. Marvel while advancing through campaign missions. The Villains Campaign offers a clear path for players to build Ms. Marvel without relying on special events or stores, making her an attainable character through consistent play. Altogether, these acquisition methods—through Legendary Events, Raid and War Stores, and campaign farming—offer multiple entry points for players to build and strengthen the Inhumans team in Marvel Strike Force. This variety supports different playstyles, whether focused on competitive modes, PvE content, or event-driven progression, allowing players to tailor their approach to assembling this powerful team.
