Introduction to Doom War Campaign

Marvel Strike Force Doom War campaign in Marvel Strike Force becomes accessible after fully completing Nexus Chapter 8, which usually coincides with reaching around player level 70 or higher. This unlock typically occurs once players have progressed through Hero 7-1 and Villain 7-1 nodes. Prioritizing Doom War early is highly beneficial due to the valuable characters and resources it offers, making it an essential part of long-term progression. The campaign serves as a gateway to unlocking several important characters including Red Skull, Silver Surfer, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Moon Dragon, Yellow Jacket, and T’Challa. Among these, Captain America (Sam Wilson) and T’Challa are particularly important unlocks because of their strong performance and synergy in various game modes. Yellow Jacket is another noteworthy character since he plays a role in unlocking Jubilee, making his early acquisition advantageous.

Doom War also provides access to a wide range of Gear Tier 14 and 15 mini-unique items, which are critical for gearing up your roster and preparing for higher-level content. In Chapter 4 of Doom War, players can obtain Teal catalysts, which are essential for advancing certain characters’ abilities. While Symbiote Spider-Man is farmable in Chapter 4, his usefulness is limited during the early stages of the campaign, so investing heavily in him initially is generally not recommended.

The campaign is structured around trait-specific node requirements, meaning that each section of Doom War requires teams composed of characters with particular traits, such as Hero Mutant or Hero Mystic. Understanding these requirements is crucial for successful progression. Team power expectations vary throughout the campaign, with most nodes demanding a combined team power of approximately 200,000 to 250,000, which averages around 40,000 to 50,000 power per character. Chapter 4 stands out as significantly more difficult and is best tackled by players with level 75 to 80 characters, equipped at least to Gear Tier 13, to meet the challenge effectively.

Managing resources efficiently during Doom War is vital. Players should focus on developing characters who contribute not only to the campaign but also to long-term goals such as Dark Dimension content, Raids, and unlocking Apocalypse. Rather than spreading resources thinly across many characters, it is more effective to concentrate on upgrading your strongest meta characters that meet the necessary trait requirements. This targeted investment ensures faster progress and better returns in multiple areas of the game. Additionally, it is advisable to carefully test each node with your current team before committing large amounts of resources to upgrades. This approach prevents unnecessary resource expenditure on characters who may not significantly contribute to clearing the content.

Using ISO-8 customization strategically can also improve success rates in Doom War. Assigning Healer ISO-8 classes to certain characters can provide extra sustain during difficult nodes, and even Level 1 healing abilities can make a noticeable difference in survivability. This tactic can be particularly helpful in later chapters where the difficulty ramps up.

Recent character additions and reworks have generally made earlier sections of Doom War easier to clear, allowing players with updated rosters to progress more smoothly. However, maintaining a well-rounded team that meets trait requirements and is properly geared remains the cornerstone of success. Overall, focusing on Doom War progression not only unlocks key characters and valuable gear but also sets a solid foundation for advancing through many of Marvel Strike Force’s more challenging game modes.

Doom War Chapter 1

In the Doom War campaign of Marvel Strike Force, Nodes 1 through 3 require teams composed of Hero Mutant and Hero Inhuman characters. Recommended teams include the Unlimited X-Men, especially Gambit if available, and the Astonishing X-Men, with Jubilee, Beast, and Bishop being strong picks. Phoenix is effective when paired with Beast to maintain a 3-star rating if she transforms during the fight. Alternative options include the Dad Bros duo of Shatterstar and Longshot, Polaris, Magic, and Miss Marvel who benefits from synergy with Young Avengers, and Yo-Yo, though it’s advisable to avoid pairing her with other Protectors. Black Bolt offers high utility across multiple game modes and fits well into these nodes. These nodes generally require an estimated team power ranging from 200,000 to 250,000, though strong teams like the Astonishing X-Men or Dad Bros can clear them at lower power levels. For fight strategy, keep the Royal Guard alive in Doom 1-1 to prevent enemy Yo-Yo’s passive ability, prioritize clearing Quake and Ronin early to avoid their debuffs, and be cautious of Captain Marvel’s Binary ability on the second wave. In Doom 1-2, watch for the Toad and Blob duo that extends debuffs and deflects attacks, focus on clearing Colossus quickly on wave two, and prepare for bleeds from Pyro and Psylocke on the third wave. Doom 1-3 features taunting Miss Marvel, whom you should either eliminate early or counter with area-of-effect attacks; Toad and Blob return on the second wave, and Mr. Sinister’s clones must be prioritized for removal.

Nodes 4 through 6 require Hero Mystic or Guardians characters. Top choices include Eternals such as Ikaris and Sersi, who can clear content quickly even individually, and New Warriors like Deadpool, Cloak, and Dagger. Other strong options are Silver Surfer, Scarlet Witch (who may improve after a rework), and both versions of Thor, including the original and Mighty Thor. The Guardians team featuring Gamora, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Mantis is effective, with Groot being crucial for his deathproof abilities. Supernatural characters such as Ghost Rider, Dr. Voodoo, Elsa Bloodstone, and Doctor Strange can also be used, though this team requires considerable investment and overlaps with requirements for Doom 3 nodes. Survival through these nodes relies heavily on revives and deathproof mechanics. Team power should generally be around 200,000, but for tougher nodes like 1-6 (the Negasonic node), community experience suggests aiming for 220,000 to 250,000 power. In fights, focus on eliminating Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider early in Doom 1-4 to minimize passive damage, and similarly clear Ghost Rider promptly in 1-5 while using Doctor Strange’s NPC for offense downs on Elsa and Ghost Rider. Doom 1-6 requires careful management to avoid getting stuck behind Juggernaut’s taunt, dealing with Psylocke’s debuff returns, and handling waves where Drax taunts alongside a healing and cloning Mr. Sinister.

Nodes 7 through 9 call for Shield, Wave 1 Avengers, or Fantastic Four characters. Maria Hill is one of the best Shield options due to her healing mechanics that can carry nodes. For Wave 1 Avengers, Hulk (for Gamma synergy), original Thor (for Hero Asgardians), and Iron Man (for Bionic Avengers) have been significant contributors to success. Invisible Woman is useful in Dark Dimension 4 and 5, as well as in Knowhere Heist, while Nick Fury is valuable for his summons and unlocking Omega Red. Black Widow provides speed-up mechanics, and characters like Yo-Yo, Coulson, Hawkeye, Captain America, and Quake also have situational utility, though Yo-Yo should be avoided if paired with other Protectors. There is no single best team composition for these nodes, as synergy varies widely, but community experience indicates that teams with around 200,000 to 250,000 power can clear the content, with some recommending approximately 260,000 for a fully optimized Wave 1 team consisting of Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk, and Original Captain America, all geared at level 12 and outfitted as healers to maximize sustain. Variations between Gear Tier 10 and 13 characters can also be effective depending on the team setup. During fights, Doom 1-7 requires early elimination of Taskmaster and Merc Lieutenant to prevent buff stacking, while Wave 2 features a potentially devastating double Crossbones AOE attack. Doom 1-8 includes a Magneto summon after the death of one enemy, and players should avoid getting trapped behind Juggernaut’s two-turn taunt while focusing on slowing operators. Doom 1-9 is challenging due to multiple Psylocke ultimates that throw back debuffs, multiple Crossbones AOE attacks, and frequent appearances of Psylocke across all waves, making her a high priority target in early Doom War content.

Doom War Chapter 2

Nodes 1 through 3 in the Doom War campaign require teams composed of AIM, Mercenary, or Wakandan characters. Wakandans are the top choice due to a recent rework and their necessity for progressing in the Chaos Theory content. AIM teams can clear these nodes with relatively low resource investment but have limited utility outside this campaign unless Modok is introduced. A solid AIM team typically includes Scientist Supreme, Security, Researcher, Assaulter, and Graviton, but generally avoids Monstrosity. Other viable options include Shuri, Killmonger, Taskmaster, Merc Lieutenant, and Merc Riot Guard, though it’s best to avoid taunters where possible. Team power around 150,000 to 200,000 yields the best results, especially with Wakandan teams. During fights, in Doom 2-1, be cautious of heal blocks applied by Mordo and Venom, and prepare for Loki’s disruptive mechanics on the second wave, which can turn your team’s abilities against you. Watch for burst damage from Rocket and Elsa Bloodstone. Wakandans are well-suited to handle this section. In Doom 2-2, prioritize taking down Emma Frost early in the Strife Emma Frost combo, and be wary of Toad and Blob’s deflection and debuff extension. Pyro and Psylocke appear on the following wave, with Psylocke’s abilities requiring careful attention. Doom 2-3 demands an immediate focus on eliminating Minerva on wave one to prevent revives, and attention to two Visions on wave three who can cause problematic ability blocks; Scarlet Witch’s debuff extension can also make this node more challenging.

Nodes 4 through 6 require teams made up of Hand, Marauders, or Spider-Verse characters. The Web Warriors team—including original Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Ghost Spider, Scarlet Spider, and Spider-Punk—is the preferred choice due to their farmability and importance in upcoming content like Pestilence Morgan Le Fay and Bio Doom Raid. Symbiotes are a viable alternative and mostly farmable, although Symbiote Spider-Man may be more difficult to acquire. While Marauders have undergone changes, Web Warriors generally outperform them, and Mr. Sinister’s value has diminished. The Hand faction is currently the weakest option until receiving a rework. Team power around 150,000 to 200,000 with Web Warriors is sufficient for these nodes. In combat, Doom 2-4 involves eliminating four Merc Lieutenants who serve as operators while managing two Merc Riot Guards that attempt to taunt; this stage is relatively straightforward with the recommended characters. Doom 2-5 requires early removal of Baron Zemo on wave one and prioritizing Invisible Woman on wave two. This node is not particularly difficult. Doom 2-6 features Merc Lieutenant buffs on wave one and Taskmaster on wave two, who should be focused quickly. Thanks to Web Warriors’ strength, this set of nodes is considered the easiest within this section.

Nodes 7 through 9 focus on Black Order, Hydra, or Power Armor characters. Black Order is the best option due to the empowered Thanos NPC present in node 2-9, with key members including Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, and Cull Obsidian. Hydra teams led by Baron Zemo and Red Skull, supported by Hydra Scientist, Armored Guard, and Sniper, can clear the section efficiently. Red Skull’s ability to revive Hydra minions simplifies these fights, though the section can feel tedious, so it’s recommended to minimize resource investment in Hydra characters. Power Armor teams are generally not favored, with Iron Man being the only notable exception. As a fifth member for Black Order, either Baron Zemo or Falcon can be included. Team power for Hydra compositions with Red Skull and Zemo should be around 250,000 to 300,000. Fight strategies for Doom 2-7 include handling numerous Kree minions with Baron Zemo’s help, preparing for Captain Marvel on wave two, and dealing with Ronin on wave three; this node is not especially difficult. Doom 2-8 features Symbiote Spider-Man and Emma Frost on the first wave, who should be priority targets, followed by Strife and Marauders on wave two, where Emma Frost should be dealt with first. This node is moderately challenging but manageable. The most difficult level is Doom 2-9, where the objective is to protect an Operative NPC for four turns against Doctor Doom’s attacks. Utilizing turn meter manipulation, such as Red Skull’s special, along with taunts from Armored Guard, is crucial for survival. Applying debuffs to Doctor Doom, like Baron Zemo’s slow, also improves chances of success. This node demands careful team composition and timing to clear effectively.

Doom War Chapter 3

Nodes 1 through 3 of Doom War Chapter 3 have no specific character requirements, allowing you to use any of your strongest characters to progress. These early nodes are generally easy and should be cleared without much difficulty once unlocked. Compared to the earlier chapters, Doom War Chapters 3 and 4 are more player-friendly and less demanding in terms of team composition. In combat, watch for Baron Zemo appearing on wave two in node 3-1. In node 3-2, Scientist Supreme appears on wave one and can apply dangerous debuffs, so focus on controlling those effects. Node 3-3 features a large number of Doombots, so characters with area-of-effect abilities are particularly effective for clearing quickly.

Nodes 4 through 6 require Avengers or Fantastic Four characters, though Fantastic Four are generally not recommended. This section is greatly improved by newer Avengers teams such as Young Avengers, Bionic Avengers, and Secret Avengers. Young Avengers include heroes like Squirrel Girl, Miss Marvel, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Echo, and Miles Morales, which are also useful for the Famine Rogue event. Bionic Avengers, featuring reworked Iron Man, Hulk for Gamma, and OG Thor for Hero Asgardians, excel in Death Scourge events. Secret Avengers, currently the top Doom Raid skill team, include Captain America (Sam), Maria Hill, and Sharon Carter. Any of these teams are worth investing in, as they all carry the Avengers tag and offer strong synergy. Team power around 200,000 is sufficient, with newer teams generally making the nodes easier to clear. During fights, Doom 3-4 is the most challenging node here. Beware of Doctor Octopus’s offense down immunity affecting the entire node, even after his death. On wave two, a Toad, Blob, and Juggernaut combo with Electro can pose serious threats, and wave three features Rhino and Sabretooth, whose bleeds and extra damage require careful management. In Doom 3-5, Proxima Midnight can apply offense down, and Falcon alongside Symbiote Spider-Man appear on wave two, so focusing them early helps. Doom 3-6 features Doctor Doom arriving on the first turn, bringing a powerful ultimate bot combo. Quake is a key target to avoid debuffs, with Taskmaster, Merc Lieutenant, and Shuri appearing on wave two to handle quickly.

Nodes 7 through 9 require Hero Tech or Hero Supernatural characters. Among the top choices are Kestrel, a premium and orb-exclusive character; Scarlet Witch, part of the Darkhold faction and expected to receive a rework; and Vision. Bionic Avengers members beyond Iron Man also fit here, along with other strong characters such as Shuri, Kate Bishop, T’Challa, Star-Lord, Misty Knight, Falcon, Ghost Rider, and Elsa Bloodstone. Star-Lord and Rocket can be viable if they are invested in for the Nowhere Heist event. This section often requires a mixed team without a single dominant composition, so focus on using your best available characters within the required traits. Team power around 200,000 to 250,000 is recommended, with Kestrel making these nodes significantly easier. During combat, Doom 3-7 demands attention to burst damage from two Killmongers; Shuri’s defense buffs or Tech characters paired with Vision can help mitigate this damage. On wave two, prioritize taking out Shuri and Cyclops. Doom 3-8 features a challenging combo of Hela and Invisible Woman alongside Ghost Rider, whose debuffs can be problematic; using the Doom NPC carefully helps here, especially to avoid mind control effects. Doom 3-9 requires killing Ghost Rider early to prevent passive damage, maximizing the Doom NPC’s potential by summoning Doombots and applying debuffs on enemy Doctor Doom. On wave three, Doombots are useful for disrupting tanks and easing the fight.

Doom War Chapter 4

For Nodes 1-3 in Chapter 4, the requirements focus on Spider-Verse, New Warriors, or Heroes for Hire characters, though Heroes for Hire are generally less effective and can be mostly ignored. The top recommended teams are the Web Warriors, which form a well-rounded endgame Spider-Verse squad with excellent synergy, and the New Warriors trio of Cloak, Dagger, and Deadpool, known for their strong ability energy generation and AoE damage. Shang-Chi is also a solid solo option, while Doc Ock provides survivability with regeneration and summons. Carnage and Symbiote Spider-Man offer utility, though Symbiotes may struggle on nodes 4-2 and 4-3. Fight strategies include focusing Taskmaster early on in 4-1 due to his blinding abilities, prioritizing Baron Zemo for ability block on wave 2, and dealing carefully with Crossbones’ taunts. On 4-2, players should take out the Cloaks first to prevent negative debuffs, then Dagger and Ebony Maw while watching for Hela’s debuff spread and Loki’s ultimate, which can cause friendly fire. For 4-3, it’s critical to focus down Doctor Doom and the Doombots with AoE attacks early, save Dagger’s ultimate for wave 2 to clear Invisible Woman and Scarlet Witch, and on wave 3, eliminate Ghost Rider first to prevent free enemy attacks, followed by Scarlet Witch to stop healing.

Nodes 4-6 require Hero Mutant characters and recommend building teams like the Unlimited X-Men, which include the powerful Gambit and offer great synergy, Astonishing X-Men with Phoenix and Beast for healing, X-Factor for AoE damage and clones, and X-Force for strong offense though with less healing. These nodes are best tackled with level 75-80 characters at Gear Tier 13 or higher, with team power around 400K or more for consistent three-star clears. The fights in this segment are challenging: in 4-4, focus on Secret Avengers before AIM enemies while using Multiple Man’s clones for tanking, and beware SHIELD Troopers’ free attacks. In 4-5, prioritize defeating AIM Operators, who are the win condition, while managing Hulks’ taunts, Invisible Woman’s shields, and Mantis’s healing, with Doctor Doom fighting alongside you. Node 4-6 is the toughest, starting with Omega Red and Weapon X; players must handle Bishop’s immediate taunt, eliminate Sabretooth and Silver Samurai first to break synergies, and then focus Omega Red. Multiple Man’s clones are valuable distractions here, while swapping Polaris out for Jubilee or Beast on wave 2 improves survivability.

For Nodes 7-9, Mystic Non-Minion characters are required, with top recommendations including Eternals and New Warriors. Other viable characters include Mighty Thor, OG Thor, Darkhold characters, Doctor Doom, Silver Surfer, Hela, Adam Warlock, Ebony Maw, Dr. Voodoo, Ghost Rider, Thanos, Morbius, Elsa Bloodstone, Mordo, Loki, America Chavez, and White Tiger. While Symbiote Spider-Man can be farmed here, he is generally not recommended due to farming difficulty and situational viability. This node set is considered relatively easy for players with strong Mystic rosters and primarily serves as a gateway to unlock later chapters. Doctor Doom can be used effectively but lacks widespread community rating or specialized strategies here.

Final Tips and Suggestions

When progressing through Marvel Strike Force, it’s important to prioritize clearing Doom War before tackling Dark Dimension 3 (DD3). Completing Doom War unlocks vital rewards such as Gear 14 and 15 mini-uniques and teal catalysts, which are essential for successfully advancing through DD3 and future content. Moreover, building and optimizing teams for Doom War—like Web Warriors, Secret Avengers, and Eternals—not only helps you clear the campaign but also aligns perfectly with the requirements of upcoming raids and Dark Dimensions. When gearing your characters, practice strategic patience: avoid rushing to upgrade gear until your teams are fully formed and ready to enter DD3, ensuring resources are spent efficiently and not wasted on underdeveloped rosters. Collaborate with your alliance to tackle the more challenging nodes, especially those requiring specific team compositions such as Tech nodes in Doom Raids, as this coordination can save valuable resources and time. Remember, DD3 is a marathon, not a sprint—it can take weeks or even months to clear certain nodes, but there’s no strict time limit, so focus on long-term progression rather than speed. Navigating Doom War is akin to preparing for a complex theatrical production where each chapter demands its own specialized cast and precise execution. Success depends not just on having powerful characters but on mastering the “script” by understanding enemy threats, leveraging your teams’ strengths, and carefully building your roster’s capabilities to achieve a flawless, three-star performance in every node.
