Grow a Garden Prehistoric Update

Grow a Garden Prehistoric Update (Version 1.13.0)

Get ready, Gardeners! Grow A Garden has officially unleashed its highly anticipated Prehistoric Update (v1.13.0) this Saturday, July 5th, 2025. This mega exciting update promises dino-sized surprises and relics from a forgotten age, transforming your farming experience into a prehistoric adventure. The developers hinted at this update earlier, with Jandel confirming a full prehistoric theme in a TikTok reply to a follower’s request.

Dive into the Prehistoric Event!

This isn’t just an update; it’s the Prehistoric Event! Grow A Garden has previously launched “event” type updates, which typically feature a new display in the center of the field and require players to grind towards specific goals. This event will replace the previous Harvest Event, which many players found repetitive. The new central display is dinosaur-themed, resembling a sand and dig site, and is double-sided, reminiscent of the Lunar Glow display.

Here’s what you can expect from this monumental update:

A New Questline: The Dino Quest!

Say goodbye to the Harvest quest and hello to the Dino Quest, which is a brand new quest to replace the harvest. This questline is offered by an NPC named Blaire, located at the quest stall in the center of the play area. The Dino Quest features a Reward Track of prizes, similar to the Lunar Glow Event. You gain points for participating, and more points unlock more prizes.

Quests refresh every 6 or 8 hours, giving players multiple chances to complete them. You can also “Restart Dino Track” for 149 Robux or “Skip Dino Quests” for 89 Robux. Completing all challenges in the Dino Quest will reward you with the highly coveted Bone Blossom Seed.

The Bone Blossom: A New King of Crops!

Prepare for a game-changer: a new plant that is worth more than the Candy Blossom has been announced. This superior seed is the Bone Blossom, and it’s the ultimate reward for completing the full Dino Quest track. The Bone Blossom is a multi-harvest crop with high sell value.

Unearth New Seeds, Pets, and Mutations!

The Prehistoric Update is packed with new content to discover and unlock:

Prehistoric-Themed Seeds & Plants

The Old Seed Shop is back! Beyond the Bone Blossom, you can find multiple other seeds. These include:

  • Burning Bud: Now the most expensive item in the Seed Shop, replacing Sugar Apple as the highest-valued crop. It costs 50,000,000 Sheckles or 915 Robux and has a low drop rate, refreshing every five minutes. It’s a high-yield crop with an average sell value of 135,000 Sheckles per fruit.
  • Fossilight
  • Firefly Fern
  • Boneboo
  • Horned Dinoshroom: Noted as the first multi-harvest mushroom in the game.
  • Paradise Petal
  • Stonebite

Look out for Ancient Seed Packs and Exotic Ancient Seed Packs in the Shop, likely containing these new seeds. The rarest seed in these packs is the Fossilight.

Dinosaur Pets and Eggs

Get ready for dinosaur pets! Confirmed pets include the T-Rex and Raptor. Other reported pets are Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Pterodactyl, and Brontosaurus. Hatch Dinosaur Eggs to get these new pets.

The Pet Mutator (or DNA Machine): Located at the back of the event island, this machine allows you to trade existing pets for dinosaur eggs. Jandel demonstrated trading an unwanted rooster pet for two dinosaur eggs. It takes 1 hour of incubation for an egg to be spit out, with a slim chance of getting a dino pet directly. The eggs take four hours to hatch once acquired.

Each dinosaur pet offers unique gameplay enhancements:

  • Triceratops: Increases size and weight of hatched pets.
  • Raptor: Has a chance to apply the Amber mutation to crops.
  • Stegosaurus: May duplicate harvested crops, especially prehistoric varieties.
  • Brontosaurus: Boosts growth rate of up to three crops with chances for secondary boosts.
  • Pterodactyl: Introduces Windstruck or Twisted mutations and improves player jump height.
  • T-Rex: Recognizes and spreads top crop mutations across the garden, enhancing total harvest value. The T-Rex has a 1% chance of hatching from an egg, making it ultra-rare.

New Mutations and Weather Events

Sandstorm Weather Event: This new event can give your fruit a Sandy mutation, turning it a sandy yellow color with a x3 multiplier.

  • Mutation Spray Amber: A brand new spray that can mutate singular fruits with the Amber mutation. This is the first-ever mutation with multiple stages and offers a 10x value boost.
  • Meteor Strike Weather Event: Although possibly not live yet, this event turns the sky red and drops brown meteors that can give crops the “meteoric” mutation, linking well with the dinosaur extinction theme.
  • Look out for various new secret events.

Other Exciting Additions and Improvements!

  • Travelling Merchants: The Summer Traveling Merchant returns, joined by a new Honey Traveling Merchant.
  • New Items: Beyond seed packs and eggs, discover the Dino Crate, which can unlock 6 prehistoric-themed cosmetics.
  • Cosmetics: Over 6 new summer-themed cosmetics are available to customize your avatar and garden.
  • Quality of Life Changes:
    • You can now expand your maximum pet inventory size.
    • Sprinklers are now shovelable, allowing you to clear up space.
    • Fixed issues with daily quests not tracking properly.
    • Various performance optimizations and bug fixes across the board.

This update is exceptionally well-timed, coinciding with the debut of the new Jurassic World Rebirth movie. There’s even a possibility of a map change, with sand/dirt replacing the usual grass in the field and potentially in gardens themselves.

Get ready to dig up the past and cultivate an amazing prehistoric paradise in Grow A Garden!
