Genshin Impact Azurelight

Introducing the Azurelight

Genshin Impact Azurelight - Weapon

The Genshin Impact Azurelight is a powerful new 5-star sword introduced in Version 5.X, boasting an exceptionally high Base ATK of 674. It is designed around a unique conditional passive that rewards precise energy management and burst timing, making it an advanced yet rewarding weapon for sword-wielding DPS characters. While its niche mechanics may be difficult to optimize, characters with snapshotting bursts or tight energy control can unleash its full potential, including a staggering +40% CRIT DMG.

Ascending the Azurelight

To maximize Genshin Impact Azurelight’s potential, players must fully ascend the weapon to level 90. This process requires a range of materials:

Material TypeItems NeededSource / LocationNotes
Weapon Ascension MaterialsIllusory Leaf Coil (and higher-tier variants)Weekly Domains / CraftingCan be crafted with other materials; Ayaka’s passive helps with doubling output
Enhancement OreMystic Enhancement Ore ×908Mining, quests, forgingStandard for all 5-star weapons

Progress is smooth until mid-levels, but expect significant material bottlenecks starting around level 60+. Farming the illusory materials is time-consuming, often requiring multiple domain runs and alchemical conversions.

Passive Ability: Decoding Azurelight

Genshin Impact Azurelight’s passive, Sublime Twilight of the Empty Court, offers two layers of buffs:

  1. 24% ATK for 12s after using an Elemental Skill — easy to trigger and applies to all sword characters.
  2. Additional 24% ATK and +40% CRIT DMG when the wielder has 0 Energy.

The second effect is powerful but difficult to maintain. Normal attacks, particle collection, and combat actions naturally generate Energy, often disabling the passive mid-fight. Even particles not visibly absorbed may still register, making precise snapshotting necessary. Furthermore, Elemental Bursts snapshot stats when cast, meaning the passive must be active at the exact moment of burst animation completion to apply.

Ideal Characters for Azurelight

While the Genshin Impact Azurelight is challenging to master, certain characters can benefit significantly when its conditions are met.

Genshin Impact Azurelight is most effective on characters who:

  • Have snapshotting bursts (e.g., Ayaka),
  • Can drain energy to 0 just before casting their Burst,
  • Or use Skill-focused playstyles where the second passive isn’t critical.

Even without the second passive, the high base ATK and first ATK bonus make Azurelight viable for many ATK-scaling sword DPS characters.
