The Tanuki is an upcoming pet in Roblox: Grow a Garden, classified as a Legendary tier pet. It is currently unreleased and unobtainable through standard gameplay. The Tanuki has a brown body, with different spots having various brown tints.
How to Obtain Grow a Garden Tanuki
Zen Egg
The Tanuki is obtained from the Zen Egg. The Zen Egg itself is an unreleased legendary egg that will be added in the Zen Update.
When hatching a Zen Egg, the Tanuki has a 20% chance of being acquired. Its hunger value is 15,000. The expected date of its addition to the game is July 19th, 2025.
Grow a Garden Tanuki: Passive Ability
The Tanuki’s passive ability is called “Mischief”. This trait allows the pet to occasionally cause mischief by performing random actions in your garden. Tanuki has been referred to as “Raccoon’s cousin”.

The Zen Update, where the Tanuki will become available, is expected to replace the Prehistoric event and will include a new quest, new seed packs, new pets, and new themed items.
The update will also introduce a new craftable area and a new pet trading feature where you can trade Zen pets for a chance to get eggs, seed packs, cosmetic crates, and other rare items. The Zen event will start on July 19th and end on July 26th.
