The Tranquil Mutation is a central feature of the new Zen Event in Roblox: Grow a Garden, introduced after the Prehistoric update concluded with the Armageddon. This mutation is crucial for progressing in the Zen Event and enhancing your in-game income.
Grow a Garden Tranquil Mutation applies a white bubble effect or a white circular aura on a crop, with Japanese letters or Kanji characters revealing or hovering from it. Tranquil fruits may also have a slightly lighter color and emit a faint, glowing aura.

How to Obtain Grow a Garden Tranquil Mutation
Zen Aura Event
The Zen Aura is a new weather event that occurs every 1 hour and lasts for 10 minutes.
During this event, the sky fills with maple leaves and white cloud lines, and a pinkish-orange cylinder of clouds and leaves forms around the map.
A blue aura is sent to your garden, randomly applying the Grow a Garden Tranquil Mutation to fruits. You can find a timer behind the Zen Channeller (Unk Monk) in the event hub to know when the next event starts.
To get the mutation this way, you must stay active during the Zen Aura event.
Tanchozuru (Pet)
The Tanchozuru pet can be hatched from a Zen Egg, with a 4.6% chance.
This pet will meditate every 10.24 minutes, after which nearby fruits within a 15.22 stud radius have a 5.11% chanceof mutating into Tranquil. It’s considered an excellent asset for mutation farming.
Pet Shard Tranquil
This shard is a Divine gear and the first pet shard, resembling a cyan hexagon with glowing particles.
It can be purchased from the Zen Shop for 200 Chi or 279 Robux. To unlock it in the Zen Shop, you must upgrade the Zen Channeller’s tree seven times (reaching Stage 7). Purchasing with Robux bypasses this unlock requirement.
When used, it applies the Grow a Garden Tranquil Mutation to a selected pet. The pet will also turn blue or cyan.
Once mutated, the pet will passively apply the Tranquil mutation to your garden’s harvests. Specifically, every 24.31 mins, a nearby fruit finds inner peace and gains the Grow a Garden Tranquil Mutation.
Pet Mutation Machine
Located near the Egg Shop, the Mutation Machine allows players to mutate pets of level 50 or higher. There is a 3.12% chance of obtaining the Tranquil mutation this way.
This method is considered less reliable due to the low chance. The process costs 500,000,000 and takes 1 hour, resetting the pet’s age to 1 (this can be skipped for 49 Robux).

Tranquil fruits have two primary uses within the Zen Event:
Trading for Chi Points
Chi Points are the limited-time currency for the Zen Shop. You can trade your Tranquil plants by talking to the Zen Shop (Tanuki NPC) in the hub.
You can trade one plant or select the “Take all my Tranquil plants” option. The amount of Chi you receive depends on the rarity of the plant.
Chi Points are used to purchase new items from the Zen Shop, including new seeds, Zen seed packs, Zen Egg, cosmetic items (Hot Spring, Zen Sand, Zen Crate, Zen Gnome Crate), and the Tranquil Radar. The shop restocks every hour.
Growing the Zen Tree
Submitting Tranquil fruits to Zen Channeler (Unk the Monk) in the Zen Event hub will earn you “Zen” and fill the bar above him. The Zen value contributed is tied to the rarity of the plant.
Each time the bar is completed, the tree behind him grows, progressing through seven stages. Every level unlocked makes new items available in the Zen Shop.
Growing the tree also grants rewards such as Zen Seed packs, Chi, crates, and Zen Pet Eggs. It’s recommended to focus on growing the Zen Tree first to unlock all available rewards.
Selling for Sheckles
Due to the 20x sale value multiplier, selling Tranquil fruits can be a profitable way to earn cash in the game. Even if a fruit has multiple mutations, its worth for Chi or Zen contribution is based on its rarity as a Tranquil plant.
