Introduction
With the release of season one on June 10th, 2024, Legend of Mushroom introduced the Age of Discovery event to the game. To unlock this event, servers must be 45 days or older every Monday, to receive it the following Monday.
Overview of the Age of Discovery
This will be a brief, quick read overview of the new event, Age of Discovery. I suggest reading this first to get a clear picture of the event, and then afterwards if you would like more information, we have an in-depth version that goes into extreme depth on every aspect of the event.
Each player will get their own ships that will act as a combat unit and set sail with fellow players from your server, competing against three other servers to gain treasures and occupy the Ocean King City. This City is located at the center of the map, and unlocks after 14 days. Each season lasts for 21 days.
Each server is allocated a corner of the map, with the Ocean King City being in the middle. In the graphic below, each team (server) is shown by the colour dots in the four corners, and the Ocean King City is the larger dot at the center of the map.
The dots on the map represent various bases and resource nodes. Capturing these nodes grants you rewards – for example, if you capture a level 3 base you can set it as a revive spot, and for every minute you occupy it, you will receive 40 Server Merits.
You are properly wondering what all that means – a revive spot can be thought of as a spawn location. When you are battling during the Age of Discovery event and get killed, you will be on a cooldown until you are “revived” (i.e. allowed to fight again). This cooldown is 50 minutes, although can be sped up using consumables – to see how long left until you are revived, or your health whilst alive, check above the “Port” button when on the map of the sea. The Server Merits are tokens that can be used to redeem for items on the Merit Shop – rewards include cosmetics, red souls, empowerment gear, divine hammers etc.
When you start playing a new season of Age of Discovery in Legend of Mushroom, your stats for this event do not carry over from the main game of Legend of Mushroom – so if like me, you mistakenly attack a 100k power NPC thinking it would be an easy win…. don’t, or else you will end up like me who is currently on cooldown as I write this guide. Your stats get reset, and you have to spend Iron Ingots to unlock gear – very similar to lamps in the normal game, although it costs 500 Iron Ingots to receive one piece of gear. On the boat, there is 5 gear spots, as well as an area for you to upgrade the Hull of the boat itself. The Forge can be upgraded so you can receive higher level gear by spending Blueprints.
Like the normal LoM game, upgrading this gear leads to an increase in stats. Your stats can be viewed in the “Maritime Academy”. Here you can see the Ship Base Attributes, Captain Battle Attributes, and then your advanced attributes.
It is also within the Maritime Academy that you can unlock your Crew. Your crew is simply your Pals, which will give you buffs when fighting in this event. The screenshot shows the unlock levels for each section.
When you are sailing and looking to attack a block (the name I shall give for the hexagon areas that make up the map), it must be adjacent to a block that you have already conquered. Therefore, you and your team should plan ahead where is it you wish to go, what do you wish to conquer, rather than conquering blocks in random directions – its best to pick one target, and focus on achieving that target first.
You can also recon a block to gain information on its defense (each block has an NPC defender if unoccupied, or potentially player defenders as well from other servers if occupied). Recon’ing a block will cost 1 Action Point – Action Points regen overtime, and can be thought of like “Energy” or “Stamina” in other games. You require Action Points to be able to make an action in the Age of Discovery. You can also consume Fuel to gain 1 Action Point – Fuel can be acquired through packs, although you also get 1 free per day. Once you recon a block, yourself and your allies can view information about that block for the next 15 minutes.
Attacking also costs 1 Action Point, and there is a timer as to how long it will take you to sail to a block . The Bugle items can be used to reduce the time for each voyage. You will take damage when you attack, although if you leave your ship in that block, you will regenerate 10% of your HP every 5 minutes whilst you stand guard. You also receive combat rewards for attacking blocks – even if you do not succeed.
Guarding is when you assign your ship to defend a block. This may be particularly useful to defend key routes (a line of blocks that lead from your servers base to a particular point of interest), or bases, or even the City. On an empty block, there can be up to three human defenders (and there will always be an NPC defender), although this can increase up to 40 on other types of blocks. This will be explained in more depth in the full breakdown of this event, in the guide below. When someone in your team is guarding a block, a purple shield will appear above it – the shield will also have a number, and this indicates the number of players currently guarding that block.
You will also earn Map Earnings at a fixed rate of 5 per minute for Timber, Iron Ingots, and Blueprints. Timber is used to upgrade the Sea Observatory (more on this later), Iron Ingots is used to craft gear, and Blueprints are used to level up the Forging Bench. When your team occupies resource spots, you also receive a further increase in AFK Rewards, with each level of resource spot giving you more rewards.
I hope this gives you a brief overview of the Age of Discovery in LoM. Keep reading though if you would like a detailed breakdown of every aspect.

Search Block
You can also use the Search Block feature to Quick Locate blocks such as monsters, ruins, city, and your camp.
Flagship
The Flagship is the name of your boat. The flagship has a level (like how your Mushroom has a level), for which you get EXP by salvaging gear (like how you would get EXP for your Mushroom). As you level up your Flagship, you increase its effects. The details for each level can be found below:
Level: | Ship HP: | Ship ATK: | Ship DEF: |
1 | 154K | 1.1K | 367 |
2 | 308K | 2.2K | 734 |
There are five areas for you to apply gear on your boat: A cannon, ram, sail, rudder, and oar. These can be thought of like how you would have equipment for your Mushroom.
Hull
There are currently 6 Hulls in the game. Hulls can be unlocked by redeeming Shards. Shards can be gained from the Dream Voyage event (draw Silver Ship Tickets), or from the First Occupation of the City.
