Introduction to Avians
Legend of Mushroom introduced Avians, or ‘flying pets’ as they are commonly referred to, on the 19th of June, 2024. Avians supply players with another source of buffs – with each Avian having an active skill, passive skills, and basic attributes (HP, ATK, and DEF). Avians are unlocked when a server reaches day 7, and your account reaches level 60. With the release of Avians, we also saw the release of the Cloud Ascension Trial Dungeon, which shall also be discussed in this guide as it plays an integral role in Avians.
Flying Pets are hatched from eggs and you have to carefully breed them in order to unlock high quality passive skills and attributes. There is 22 Avians currently in the game, each of them with their own active skills. It is important to pick an Avian that compliments your class.
This feature isn’t super complex, but it is important that you set your Avian up correctly to avoid an expensive mistake – so with that in mind I suggest you read the entirety of this guide before doing anything with your Avians.
How to get Flying Pets in Legend of Mushroom
Starting Avians
When you first unlock Avians, you will be given three eggs to begin with. Eggs can be used in the “Hatch Avian” area. Here you can place a an egg and then hold down a button to hatch it.
Each egg will hatch an Avian. Typically from this egg you will gain the lowest rarity of Avian “Normal”.
Breeding Avians
Breeding Base
The Breeding Base is where you can breed two Avians. The default Breeding Base is split into 3 Bases where you can breed three pairs of Avians at a time. You can purchase a pack for 4.99 crystals in order to unlock a monthly pack, with one of the perks being an extra breeding base (as you can see in the photo, I have 4 breeding bases as I have purchased the pack).
When you are selecting Avians to Breed, you can select from your Avians or a companion’s – this will be explained shortly. When breeding, you should try to breed Avians with the most passive buffs, and the highest growth values. This is because the positive traits are more likely to be passed onto their children. A high growth rate leads to more base attributes when levelled up, and the more passive buffs the better (assuming they are positive ones, which you should seek to obtain).
It costs 1 Sweetheart Cake to breed. These cakes can be earned from the Cloud Ascension Trial – although more on this later!
When you successfully hatch an Avian that you have bred, it will show you the new Avian, as well as a quick over of their passive buffs (see the blue and grey squares underneath the Gleam Candle Avian).

Flying Pets Eggs Explained
There is five types of eggs. These eggs can be gained through events, or through breeding. Each of the eggs gives different chances of rarities of flying pets:
Ore Egg: Rare Pet Guarantee
Flame Egg: Advanced Pet, chance of rare Pet
Frost Egg: Advanced Pet guaranteed
Magic Crystal Egg: Normal Pet guaranteed
Basic Egg: Small chance of advanced
Eggs can be purchase in the following packs:
Magic Egg Pack
- $5 Package = 1 Flame Crystal Egg + 2 Breeding Cake
- $10 Package = 2 Flame Crystal Egg + 4 Breeding Cake
- $15 Package = 3 Flame Crystal Egg + 7 Breeding Cake
- $50 Package = 6 Flame Crystal Egg + 12 Breeding Cake
- $100 Package = 10 Flame Crystal Egg + 20 Breeding Cake
Shop Breeding Pack
- $5 Package = 1 Basic Egg + 3 Breeding Cake
- $10 Package = 1 Flame Crystal Egg + 5 Breeding Cake
- $15 Package = 2 Flame Crystal Egg + 8 Breeding Cake
Companion Management
You can apply to team up with other players and agree to become their companion. You can have up to 10 companions at once. You can then borrow your companions’ shared Avians for breeding. This will allow you to select high-quality Avians in order to achieve higher levels of growth rate and buffs that you would want. An Avian can only be bred once at a time. Avians enter a cooldown after being bred, although this cooldown varies.
When sharing an Avian to your companions, you can enable or disable breeding confirmation – this would require you to confirm if a companion can use that Avian for breeding. This may be useful to enable when you are actively playing and want to potentially breed that Avian yourself. When breeding it shows you the generation (how many Avians have came before it in its bloodline), its rarity, active skill, and passive affixes / buffs. You can check how long it will be in cooldown for by clicking on the “i” symbol next to the love hearts.
Cloud Ascension Trial
What is Cloud Ascension Trials
With the addition of Avians, there is also the addition of Cloud Ascension Trials.
Cloud Ascension Trials is a new Dungeon, that has unique mechanics compared to the other dungeons.
It follows a similar path of four normal enemies, followed by a boss for each level.
What makes this dungeon unique is that you can equip a “Comrade” – aka another Mushroom to help you out.
You can also request assistance from other players to suggest various plans for your gear, skills, and pals.
When you go into battle, there is 5 positions to pick from: Resting Position (Mushroom won’t take part in battle but will heal by 50%), Battle Position 1 (+50% Skill Energy Regen), Battle Position 2 (Shield equal to 10% of Max HP when battle starts), Battle Position 3 (+50% Skill Energy Regen), and Battle Position 4 (Shield equal to 10% of Max HP when battle starts).
Comrade Settings Explained
Here you can select from out of 10 Comrades to assist you in battle. 3 of these comrades are NPC, although you can invite a further 7 through in-game chat.
It is important to look at the Comrades stats and active skills – remember, power does not equal a better Mushroom.
Assist Settings Explained
Here you can have players assist in your set up for the Dungeon. They can make recommendations on what sets to use for gear, skills, pals, relics, statue, accessories, and Avians.
This is useful to less experienced players as it will help you fine tune your set up from players more experienced than yourself.
Rewards of the Cloud Ascension Trial
You do not get rewarded for successfully completing a sub-stage of the trial (i.e. killing a monster as opposed to a boss), although when you clear a stage completely (i.e. kill the boss) you will receive a reward: namely Uku Fruit and Mimir’s Spring. Furthermore, you will also receive weekly rewards for your participation in the trial. Here you can pick from a range of different potential rewards so you can fine-tune what you would like your weekly reward to be. It is worth looking at all the items you can possibly get once you have reached as far as you can go, so you can make an informed and efficient decision as to the reward allocation.
How to Level Up Avians
To level up Avians, you must consume Uku Fruit. Uku Fruit can be gained from the Weekly Rewards and clearing Stages in the Cloud Ascension Trial. You can also receive it by completing achievements, a list of these achievements and their rewards can be found below
Below is a table of achievements, please note that some of these achievements are made up of multiple levels. We will be adding to this table as we gain more information.

How to Advance Avians
When you match your Avian’s active skill to something that compliments your class, 4-5 passive buffs, and a growth multiplier of at least 1.3 (out of 1.5), you can advance the Avian using the Mimir’s Spring item every 10 levels. This will increase the Avians active skill, passive buffs, and attributes. The Mimir’s Spring item can be found in the Cloud Ascension Trial Dungeon, or also for completing a batch of achievements (i.e. if you complete 5 achievements you will get 5 Mimir’s Spring).
Legend of Msuhroom Avian Recommendations
You should utilise different Legend of Mushroom flying pets based on your class type (Mage, Warrior, Archer). Below is some suggestions made by Legend of Mushroom themselves as to what Avians to pick – we will be adding more soon as Theria does more research on this.
Avians for Mage Class
Pumpkin Witch
The Pumpkin Witch is an Advanced Avian whose active skill is called “Midnight Terror” – every Skill Crit deals 600% extra AoE Skill DMG. As a mage you are often looking to crit enemies with a high amount of crit DMG, therefore this Avian is perfect as it triggers on each Skill Crit. It is especially great for multi-stage skills such as bats, thorns and spiders that will repeatedly activate Pump Witch’s active skill.
Avians for Warrior Class
Honeypot Warrior
The Honeypot Warrior is an Advanced Avian whose active skill is called “Sweet Taste” – it deals DMG equal to 2.5% Max HP every 5s after battle starts, and triggers at the start of the battle. This is great for Warriors due to their high HP, and as it triggers every 5s, Warriors are often sustained in fights for a long period of time, allowing for the active skill to activate lots of times.
Avians for Archer Class
Bell Ring
Bell Ring is an Advanced Avian whose active skill is called “Hawkeye Chase” – every Crit has a 20% chance to deal 60% extra Basic ATK Bleed DMG, which ignores damage immunity. This will help to increase Archers’ damage.
Avian Mutations and Buffs
Avians can have up to 4 passive buffs (affixes), unless they receiving a mutation, which would enable them to have 5 passive buffs. Mutations do not pass down to the next generation of Avian. There is a small random probability that may occur in affixes that have 4 passive buffs. When you have two Avians that have (for example) 2 passive buffs, then you have a greater chance of receiving an Avian with 3 passive buffs once they breed.
The Attribute Multiplier has a maximum value of 1.5. This multiplier indicates how much of an increase the attribute stats will increase with each level the Avian increases. You can check out our Attribute Multiplier calculator by clicking here.
