Introduction to Legend of Mushroom Mage Class Guide
This guide will discuss everything there is to know about being a Mage in Legend of Mushroom. We hope you enjoy!
First, I would like to explain that in different parts of the game you will require different skills/pals to prove effective in the Legend of Mushroom Mage class in order to move forward. For example, our top skills/pals guide may not work for you even though you have all of the skills & pals in order to use it. Each part of the game requires a necessary set of skills/pals in order to conquer it. Please use the knowledge you learn here as a baseline in order to get better, gain knowledge and progress further. I will start off giving some background information, and then explain Relics and when to use them, before providing you with PVE Information. Then the guide will move onto PVP, Runestones + Souls + Awakening etc.
The Legend of Mushroom Mage is a good class to play if you’re a heavy spender and it can take some time to get the ideal % for it, for example Stun / Skill crit on your gear, the damage for your attacks etc.
There are 2 main builds that you can play for mage and that is full damage (the 1 shot method) or the stun lock build for a prolonged battle, the stun build is suggested if the 1 shot methods no longer works. The one shot method works up to your opponent having eternal gear, afterwards it proves less effective due to warriors having a large amount of extra HP and it will take some time to get that extra HP replaced in DMG to get back to 1 shot them to win.
This main things you want to look at as a mage are these:
Active Skill Regen 30% – this means you have a lower cooldown after using a skill for example if a skill was on 10 second cooldown it will not be on a 7 second cooldown.
Prolong Active Skills by 50% and Damage boost by 30% – This means if you use a skill and the activation of that skill lasts 5 seconds for example then it will last for 7.5 seconds, will last longer if u have the time statue too.
Reminder: Mages are strong against Warriors, and weak against Archers.
Relics
Now let’s discuss some relics that you should mainly focus on as a mage and why:
Immunity Book – This book gives you 3 second damage immunity when going up against a boss, this book is good in boss battles to waste more time to cooldown your skills.
Beasthide Book – This book is
good if you have high ATK, I don’t suggest using this book early game.
Stonewrit Tome – This book is
good for pvp and can be used for Stage Battles, this gives you 5% resistance.
Demons Mask – Provides an additional 5% skill crit, this is the best mask a Mage can use.
Metamorphic Crystal – If you’re attempting to stun lock an opponent, then you can use this as an additional relic when using the Fox pal.
Magic Box – If you’re using the Deer early game then you can use the Magic Box so you aren’t wasting a relic slot.
Thundercaller Kite – This is the best Fossil a mage can use, especially with quicker skill regen so it is activated more often. This relics damage value is increased as it is leveled.
Now let’s discuss the necklaces and statues, these relics are dependent on the skills that you have equipped:
Time Statue – By Far the best relic to use if you have disarm and smoke bomb unlocked. This prolongs the duration of the skills disarm, dazzled and smoke bomb by 50% the duration, meaning instead of 3 seconds disarm with the statue it will be an additional 1.5 seconds (half of 3 seconds) so you will disarm your opponent for 4.5 seconds since you’re made you get another 50% boost. So instead of 4.5 seconds it will be 1.5+4.5=6 seconds for the opponent to be disarmed. This is good for both pvp and pve.
Energy Statue – If you’re early game and don’t have the other skills unlocked then you can use this statue when using shroom shield and natures renewal.
Storm Necklace – If you’re going for a pro-long battle / defense build then you can use this if you’re using clone strike, if your clone dies before it hits the opponent then don’t use clone strike unless you can get a second activation of clone or if you have eye of raven / magic carpet.
Spirit Necklace – Use this if you do not have clone strike equipped, this is overall a good necklace if you’re trying to go for the one shot mage build to kill the opponent before their shields are activated.
Early Game Mage Build
The following will include builds of both PVE and PVP for the Legend of Mushroom Mage class. First we will start with PVE, and then progress to PVP.
PVE Early Game Mage Build
PVE Stage Mobs
Skills
Pals
Relics
PVE Boss
This first build will work if you are running out of time before killing the boss – i.e. you are not dealing enough damage:
Skills
Pals
Relics
The following Mage build is a mixture between defense and damage focus:
Skills
Pals
Relics
If Snail is not helping, then replace it with Rainshade Bird (attack speed bird).
PVP Early Game Mage Build
Skills
Pals
Relics
- Batty Trace – added because it deals AOE damage, with it being on stages that can easily wipe out the stage mobs with the additional damage boost from the energy statue. Batty Trace also has a fast attack speed and works well in PVP, In some cases you can use batty trace before opponent blitz, dealing damage to both the player and the clone if they have one equipped. Will also work for boss fights.
- Shroom Shield – Gives you a shield to protect you from the mobs, this is good early game for stages until you have clone strike unlocked.
- Natures Renewal – This skill is good for PVE but not for PVP due to it having a 30-40% debuff for PVP for game “Balance” Meaning if it’s 30% Healing of max HP for pvp that will be around 9%-12% Healing.
- Spider Weaver – Suggested this for PVP and PVE because it has a fast attack speed and deals a good amount of damage, and can be used repeatedly due to it having a 10 seconds cooldown speed. Mages get 50% less cooldown speed meaning it will be 5 seconds and even shorter if you have an avian with skill cooldown or hydrosprite.
- Meteor Fall – This skill is a good early game for the additional skill DMG, this is also good for damage orientated bosses such as Lamp Thief or Cross-Server Showdown boss.
- Hydrosprite – This gives you a quicker skill cooldown which is helpful in PVE and Bosses. This can help in PVP if you have enough time in the battle to use your skills repeatedly, if the Hydrosprite is ineffective in PVP and doesn’t let you use additional skills then remove it.
- Dragon – This gives you a high skill crit rate which is essential to help you get better % on your statistics.
- Snail – Slow the bosses/stage mobs down to give yourself more time to launch additional skills. If the snail proves ineffective then swap it out for Deer if you are dying, if you’re running out of time then change to Rainshade Bird (+ Attack speed)
- Ami – This is a Sprite this has multiple upgrades to it similar to the hydrosprite, this allows you to deal additional skill damage. I would suggest this for both PVP and PVE.
- Kitten – Each time you activate a skill the opponent receives an additional 100-200% damage, this cat is good for mage.
Mid to Late Game Mage Build
Now let’s discuss further into the game when you have unlocked pink skills/pals and when we can start implementing necklaces into our loadout.
The main skills here is Smoke Bomb and Disarm. If you have pinks unlocked then instead of shroom shield you can use clone, if you have blitz assault always use this skill, If you have the pink dragon then always use that, Purchasable skills you want to look out for on Mage is Crimson Moonfall and Star Array, These are the skills you would want to purchase through Cross-Server Showdown / Family brawl shop.
Now, lets get into some Legend of Mushroom Mage builds:
PVE Mage Build
PVE Stages Mage Build
Skills
Pals
Relics
PVE Bosses Mage Build
This is a pure damage build. Mostly likely usable if the battle ends and you don’t have enough time to kill the boss, or can be used for lamp thief or cross-server showdown bosses.
Skills
Pals
Relics
PVE Bosses DPS / Defense Mage Build
Skills
Pals
Relics
PVE Stun Lock Mage Build
We will go into more detail on the Stun Lock Mage build later, but for PVE you can use the following setups.
Lamp Thief / Cross Server Showdown Boss Mage Build
Skills
Pals
Relics
If you have a higher stun percentage, then you can use Alpine in replacement of the Fiery Tale (and make sure to reflect this in relic).
Stages Stun Lock Mage Build
For Stages you can use the damage orientated set located above and use that for bosses also. If this doesn’t work for you changes you can make is change Meteor Fall to blitz assault and change Fiery Tale to the Snail for the slowness debuff. This will be to deal appropriate damage to the Hostile as well as providing yourself with some protection. (Slowness debuff + Clone Shielding you + Blitz shield) If Blitz Assault doesn’t help then you can try use Disarm, I suggest using discord on a 4 second delay, Check the battle to see if you need to change the delay earlier or later, You want disarm to activate before the opponent touches you. (Blitz is the same) Disarm has an extended activated duration compared to blitz.
Grumpy Boss Stun Lock Mage Build
Skills
Pals
Relics
PVP Mage Build
A standard PVP Mage build can be found below:
Skills
Pals
Relics
If you can, use Hydrosprite, although if it is not proving to be efficient then swap Hydrosprite for Angel Deer. If you have pink skills available, you can change Shroom Shield to Clone Strike, and Wild Gust to Blitz Assault. If you equip Clone Strike, be sure to activate the Lightning Relic. If you have pink Pals available, then you can upgrade the dragon to the pink dragon.
Now I will discuss different sets that you can use at different moments. For all these load outs, you want Skill Crit & Stun ideally on each gear piece.
One Shot Mage Build (Pre-Eternal)
This will work until your opponent has Eternal Gear. For this to work, you must have the following essentials:
- Runestone Enchantments: Slot 4 – Skill DMG (MAX LVL)
- Prayer Statue: 5 x Global ATK
- Back Accessory Talents: Skill DMG Max Level
For the One-Shot Mage loadout, these are the skills/pals/relics that you will want equipped for PVP:
Skills
Pals
Relics
Here I have suggested Blitz and disarm this will give you the damage immunity and prevent the user attacking you, Batty trace has a quick activation time which activates the skill before their blitz assault has been activated it also deals a lot of damage finishing off the clone and your opponent. Star array was added in to increase your Skill crit rate and add additional skill crit damage.
You can swap between Hipster tortoise or angel deer, if the hipster tortoise’s shield has been activated and it gets destroyed in 1 hit then swap it out for angel deer.
The blitz assault relic will allow you to deal additional damage during your blitz assault.
One Shot Mage Build (Eternal +)
Now let’s discuss a build for after Eternal. This build should still 1 shot opponents in full Eternal gear. The other items listed above are still essential. You always want a high Skill DMG for Mage, this is just a more end-game Mage.
For your Statue, you want x3 Global ATK and x2 Skill DMG SSS. In talents you will want to go with the Sorcery talent “Temporal Compression”.
After unlocking the last lane you want to keep upgrading your Stun duration afterwards upgrade your Attack, Hp and defense. You want to upgrade them in that order.
After Eternal Gear is unlocked this is the ideal one-shot route to go. I will now give you the pets/skills to use. This setup is ideal unless you’re going for a stun-lock build.
Skills
Pals
Relics
Skill Notes:
- If you are going against mages, change Easy Breezy to Star Array.
Pal Notes:
- Alternative: Change Angel Deer for Cat Prince / Fiery Tale
- If Hydrosprite is not effective, change to one of the above Pals.
- Snow General is only good against Archers/Mages, If going against a mage you can use Fiery Tale/Cat Prince, If you’re already using these 2 pals then you can use angel deer.
Relic Notes:
- If you’re using Snow General then use the Blue Snowflake relic, mages last long in battles due to having large amounts of HP and regeneration + Skill regeneration. This relic deals a large amount of damage every 12 seconds onto the opponent.
- Statue – Use Time statue for Smoke bomb + Disarm to extend the duration.
- Necklace – Abyss necklace because we’re using Crimson Moonfall, using this relic will boost the damage from Crimson Moonfall by 30% (Crimson does 2k Damage, Using this relic you deal a extra 600% DMG each cast)
Stun Lock Mage Build
Now let’s discuss a Stun Lock Build, For this to be most effective I recommend having the Harp Artifact to confuse opponents when they’re attacking you or Eye Of Raven Artifact, Magic Carpet is a good mount to use too (if you have both then it’s even better).
In your Statue you want to go x5 HP.
Basically the goal is to deal significant amount of damage while also surviving, keep in mind clones can stun your opponent, So having double or even triple clone will be advantageous this is why I recommend the additional HP so the clone lives longer and is harder to eliminate and will be launching stun attacks on your opponent.
Back Accessory Talent Upgrades – To proceed with the stun lock build I suggest acquiring the Stun talent:
I recommend upgrading your ATK, HP & DEF equally and level them in that order.
Let’s discuss pals/skills for the stun build:
Skills
Pals
Relics
Notes:
- Clone Strike – You will be using Magic Carpet/Eye of raven for double/triple clone, Clones are very needed here. Using this Artifact/Mount is very useful especially since you will be using Disarm and Blitz as well. Meaning you have a 3 in 5 Chance to get a good skill cast.
- Disarm / Blitz Assault – Skills to make you live longer. You will be using the time statue meaning extra time on a smoke bomb / disarm this will help waste time to get a chance to disarm them and then stun the opponent.
- Crimson Moonfall – After each submissive attack you deal an additional 2k damage to the opponent, this also counts for extra skills that your Mount/Artifact use.
- Hydrosprite / Hipster Tortoise – You’re going for a long battle so essentially your goal is to tank their attacks until stun starts activating, using the Alpine Fox pal your stun duration is extended and allows you to deal additional damage. You want hipster Tortoise because you’ve got full HP in statue, if you come close to dying then this could save your life giving you time to activate a skill from the hydrosprite.
- Dragon – This gives you a 20% skill crit rate, this is very helpful to get ideal % chances for mage. This Pal is a must.
Statues for Legend of Mushroom Mage Class
There are a variety of different statues you can use with the Mage class:
- 3 x Global ATK + 2 x Skill DMG: If you are going for an end-game attack loadout, then this is a great build for you. The Skill Critical Damage is multiplied by the Global ATK, so picking Global ATK increases the Skill Crits DMG value.
- 5 x Global ATK: This is good to use, although if you plan on one shotting warriors, you must use 2 x Skill DMG.
- 5 x Global HP: If you want to go for a full Stun Lock build, then it will be best to go for full HP or full DEF. HP has more advantages, for example, healing is based on max player HP. DEF is good against Warriors / Archers, although less effective against Mages.
If you are unsure how the percentages work in the statue, here is a quick explanation of the buffs, using Combo DMG as an example:
We will use this one as an example. This Global Combo DMG + 72.60%, But what does this represent?
This 72.6% is a global increase (Please note the statue value is only so large because it’s taking all 5 of them into consideration) If you click onto a players profile to compare stats, locate combo DMG then click onto the information tab you can see where the combo damage is coming from. Global increase is the highest increase you can get onto your stats so this is multiplying your other combo dmg by that value.
CONCLUSION: The 72.6% get’s added to your stats and is the increase to your combo dmg itself. Now let’s discuss the 91%. What’s this?
To explain this I will re-mention that 91% represents the 72.6% the higher the 91% is the higher rarer that stat is and represents how much better of a roll you could get. So the 91% gives 72.6% Combo DMG HOWEVER. If we look at the 99%:
You can see it gives a large combo dmg %, this shows that 99% is one of the best rolls that you can get (100% will be the highest) The % value of the global combo dmg will increase as the rarity increases, for example 100% on SSS will probably max out at 80% combo dmg boost meanwhile SSS+ will most likely max out at 100% combo dmg boost.
This example is exactly the same as Skill DMG/HP/DEF/Global ATK etc.
Souls for Legend of Mushroom Mage Class
Now let’s discuss Souls and which ones should be leveled first.
This is ideal if you’re going for a long-battle to stun-lock the opponent and deal maximum damage by playing time.
- Immortal Spirit (Global HP + HP Regen Bonus) – Level 35
- Forgiving Horns (Global DEF + Boss DMG Res) – Level 35
- BloodStained Blade (ATK + Healing) – Level 40
- Guardian Star (Crit Res + Pal Crit) – Level 35
- WildFire Piercer (Basic ATK + Skill DMG) – Level 25
- Eye Of The Abyss (Crit DMG + Skill Crit) – Level 10
- Excellent Companion (Counter DMG + Pal DMG) – Level 1
- Blade Duo (Combo DMG + Boss DMG) – Level 1
Explanation: This is mainly for high regen/hp. In the image it shows level 1 for Eye of the abyss but if you can afford the additional essence it will be best upgrading this with your remainder for the additional skill crit dmg (with these souls I suggest 3 global attack and 2 Skill DMG in statue).
Sub-stats of souls are as follows:
These are the ideal substats for mage;
- DEF – Basic ATK Res
- ATK – Global Basic ATK
- Crit RES – Basic ATK Res
- Crit DMG – Global Basic ATK
- Counter – Healing
- Combo -Global Basic ATK
- Basic ATK – Global Basic ATK
If you was going for a 1 shot build then this will be more ideal:
- (Will be using the same levels used above)
Immortal Spirit (Global HP + HP Regen Bonus) – Level 10 - Forgiving Horns (Global DEF + Boss DMG Res) – Level 35
- BloodStained Blade (ATK + Healing) – Level 25
- Guardian Star (Crit Res + Pal Crit) – Level 35
- WildFire Piercer (Basic ATK + Skill DMG) – Level 40
- Eye Of The Abyss (Crit DMG + Skill Crit) – Level 35
Excellent Companion (Counter DMG + Pal DMG) – Level 1 - Blade Duo (Combo DMG + Boss DMG) – Level 1
Explanation; This will provide a mixture of PVP/PVE Defence to protect yourself just in-case as well as provide maximum damage.
Global ATK + Healing Rate Pink Global Attack vs Red Global Attack. Pink has a higher global attack value and will increase your damage output. The healing rate is good as it procs on every attack.
Global HP + HP Regen Bonus Pink HP vs Red HP. Pink HP has a higher base value than the red soul, you will also be gaining HP Regen which will heal a % of your HP every second the battle goes on.
Back Accessory Talents for Legend of Mushroom Mage Class
If you’re aiming for 1 maximizing your attack then aim for this in the sorcery branch:
Each skill cast increases ATK by 2% (up to 30%)
If you are doing a stun-lock build then this is something that you will want to aim for and is needed for better results in PvP:
Stun +15% Increasing your Stun rate.
These are the 2 recommended sets that I suggest that you aim for.
Awakening Seals for Legend of Mushroom Mage Class
- Top Left – Global Atk
- Middle Left – Defense
- Bottom Left – Crit Res
- Top Right – HP
- Middle Right – Crit DMG
- Bottom Right – Skill DMG
It’s good to balance your HP/DEF/Crit Res. I would try keep them around 50% the level of your highest. Meaning if you have level 20 Global ATK then you will get HP, DEF, Crit Res at level 10.
Global ATK is good here as it will increase your skill crit damage value, so upgrading your skill/global atk here is good. If you’re going one shot mage you can mainly focus on the global atk/skill dmg. If you’re going for DEF then I suggest using the stats above.
Runestones for Legend of Mushroom Mage Class
Ideally you want 4 x Skill DMG, and you will also want 2 x Global Basic ATK.
Now let’s talk about the ideal attributes for your runestones. We will be talking about this Attribute in “YELLOW” HP:
- Slot 1 – Can only have HP.
- Slot 2 – Can only have ATK.
- Slot 3 – Can only have DEF.
- Slot 4 – You want Skill DMG (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Slot 5 – Res Based. You want Basic ATK DMG Res.
- Slot 6 – BOSS DMG (PVE ONLY)
- Slot 6 – Crit Res
