Introduction

Marvel Strike Force Asgardians has evolved through several iterations. Initially, the team included Thor, Loki, and Hela. In 2022, Valkyrie and Mighty Thor replaced Loki and Hela, creating the current Hero Asgardian lineup. This team is generally considered mid-tier in overall performance. Their abilities make them particularly effective in War Defense scenarios, although they tend to be less impactful in other game modes. Additionally, the Asgardian team is essential for participating in the War Scourge event.
Hero Asgardian Team Members & Variations
The standard Asgardian lineup in Marvel Strike Force consists of Valkyrie, Heimdall, Thor, Mighty Thor, and Sif. For a more offensive-focused variation, Valkyrie and Beta Ray Bill can replace Heimdall and Sif, or Thor (Infinity War) can be added to increase damage and speed, though this setup is less effective in War. The team’s key strengths include high damage output, especially from charged attacks enhanced by Mighty Thor’s passive abilities. They also benefit from a high critical hit chance, boosted by Heimdall and Valkyrie’s passives. Survivability is strong due to their health, armor, and Valkyrie’s ability to revive fallen allies. Sif provides taunt and blocking capabilities, while Heimdall can apply Heal Block to disrupt opponents’ healing.
Team Placement & Turn Order

In Marvel Strike Force, Sif should be positioned in a corner since she takes the first turn and applies Taunt to herself. Valkyrie, having the lowest health, is best placed in the opposite corner for protection. Mighty Thor works well next to Sif because her high health allows her to absorb splash and chain damage. The general turn order begins with Sif, while Valkyrie, Mighty Thor, and Heimdall share the same speed, causing their turns to occur in a random sequence. Thor usually acts last. Regarding speed bar mechanics, Thor gains 5% speed bar each time an Asgardian is attacked, and Heimdall gains 20% speed bar whenever Heal Block is applied to him. Their relatively slow speeds often result in them being hit before their turn, which can sometimes allow Thor to act earlier than expected.
Iso-8 Classes
In Marvel Strike Force, Valkyrie benefits from the Striker role, which helps her accumulate Charges faster, boosting her healing on ally deaths and chained hits with her Ultimate. Raider is another viable option for her, enhancing critical damage and vulnerable application. Heimdall fits well in the Raider role since his Ultimate and Special attacks deal Area-of-Effect damage, and Raider maximizes his damage output. Thor also performs best as a Raider due to his Ultimate, Special, and passive charge mechanic all focusing on AoE damage, though Striker is a strong alternative for improving basic attack utility. Mighty Thor excels as a Skirmisher because her Ultimate can flip two Positive Effects to Negative on all enemies, and Skirmisher reduces the chance this effect is resisted. Striker is another good choice for her, increasing damage and clearing positive effects through basic attacks. Sif is best suited for the Striker role, gaining bonus Deflect on follow-up attacks, which provides more benefit than the Barrier from the Fortifier role, although Fortifier can still be considered for the consistent barrier each turn.
T4 Ability Priority
Essential Tier 4 upgrades for the Asgardian team in Marvel Strike Force include Valkyrie’s Passive, Ultimate, and Special abilities. Her Passive cleanses Negative effects and grants Safeguard, Immunity, Defense Up, and Offense Up to Hero Asgardian allies, while her Ultimate and Special provide crowd control through Stun and Ability Block. Mighty Thor’s Passive and Ultimate are crucial, with the Passive granting +1 Charge to Hero Asgardians whenever she or an ally attacks, which is key for maximizing Thor and Valkyrie’s effectiveness. Her Ultimate applies Blind to the primary target, adding control. Thor’s Passive increases the damage of his Charged attack, enhancing overall output. Heimdall’s Passive boosts Hero Asgardian Defense and applies 2 Deathproof and Speed Up for 2 turns when an ally drops below 50% Health, which is especially valuable in War Defense. Recommended Tier 4 upgrades include Sif’s Passive, which slightly increases her Block Chance and the team’s Resistance, though this is optional. Heimdall’s Special upgrade allows him to remove 2 Negative Effects instead of 1, improving survivability, and Thor’s Basic attack upgrade flips Defense Up on hit, adding utility. Other Tier 4 options such as Thor’s Ultimate and Special upgrades increase damage but do not fundamentally change the team’s flow.
Red Stars
Thor serves as the main damage dealer for the Asgardian team in Marvel Strike Force and benefits significantly from having a higher number of Red Stars. Other team members do not require the same level of investment to remain effective. A recommended approach is to prioritize Thor at 5 Red Stars while maintaining other members at 4 Red Stars. Given that the Asgardian team is an older lineup, heavy investment is generally unnecessary, especially for free-to-play players.
Farming Locations
Valkyrie can be obtained through Heroes Hard Mode 5-9 and the Blitz Store. Heimdall is available in the Arena Store and through Milestone III Orbs. Thor can be acquired from the Raid Store. Mighty Thor is farmed in Villains 4-3 and Villains Hard Mode 4-9. Sif is accessible via the War Store and Milestone III Orbs. Thor (Infinity War) is available through Premium, Nova, and Mega Orbs, as well as Supplies. Vahl can be obtained from special offers, Premium and Mega Orbs, and Supplies, while Beta Ray Bill is also available through special offers, Premium and Mega Orbs, and Supplies.
Team Mechanics

In Marvel Strike Force, the Charge mechanic plays a central role for the Asgardian team. Thor accumulates 5 Charges to unleash an attack on all enemies, dealing damage, generating Ability Energy, and then losing the Charges. He gains an additional Charge and 5% Speed Bar whenever an enemy attacks an Asgardian ally. Valkyrie’s Ultimate uses Charges to perform Rebound Chain hits, striking one adjacent target for every two Charges she has, allowing her to deal massive damage when fully charged, with a maximum of 10 Charges. She gains one Charge after basic attacks, counters, and assists. Mighty Thor gains 3 Charges from her Ultimate and, at 5 Charges, attacks the enemy with the highest damage who does not have Trauma, dealing damage and applying Trauma in War. Additionally, she grants +1 Charge to all Charge-capable Hero Asgardians when she or an ally attacks an enemy. Valkyrie’s Revenge activates upon the death of a Hero Asgardian ally, cleansing all negative effects and applying Safeguard for one turn, Immunity, Defense Up, and Offense Up for two turns to all Hero Asgardian allies. It also heals allies for 20% of Valkyrie’s maximum health plus an additional 8% per Charge, which can significantly turn the tide of battle. Sif can deal solid damage and on War Defense, she Taunts when an ally drops below 50% health while applying Offense Up to that ally. Heimdall provides high resistance against Blind and grants the team +100% Accuracy, making Blind-based abilities from enemies less effective.
Combat Tips & Tricks / Countering Asgardians
The Asgardian team in Marvel Strike Force is most commonly seen on War Defense and can be effectively countered by many Meta War Offense teams. Their primary weaknesses include slow speeds and outdated stats. When facing them, it’s important to prioritize taking down Thor, who is the main damage dealer on the standard team, or focus on Vahl in the variant lineup due to her high power and game-changing potential. Applying Trauma is an effective way to incapacitate Thor, and eliminating multiple Asgardians simultaneously prevents Valkyrie’s Passive from activating, disrupting their synergy.
Specific counters include the Eternals, particularly Ikaris and Sersi, who are popular and reliable counters. Ikaris’s Ultimate flips positive effects and deals heavy AoE damage; if he kills one Asgardian, he repeats the attack, often clearing the entire team, though he requires significantly higher Turn Meter than enemy Heimdall or Valkyrie. Pairing Eternals with Loki enables Sersi to take the first turn and allows Loki to Mind-Control enemies to attack Asgardians, softening them for Ikaris’s finish. Supernatural teams also perform well, with key abilities such as Mordo’s Special stun on Thor, Scarlet Witch’s debuff extensions, and Ghost Rider’s Special while avoiding hits on Hela’s Gregs. This strategy depends on Tier 4 upgrades on Mordo, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange.
AIMtron teams (AIM units with Ultron) can stun Thor early in the fight, while Symbiotes excel by focusing on Thor first with Carnage’s Bleeds, Miles’s Disrupt to prevent invisibility, and Venom’s Ability Block on Sif to stop Taunt. Removing Loki stops Hela’s invisibility and Greg loops, and killing Gregs removes enemy speed boosts. Symbiotes require tanky Carnage and Venom to withstand Thor’s burst damage. Fantastic Four can work with sacrificial strategies or by replacing Mr. Fantastic with Drax, and adding Shuri from Wakandans greatly enhances their punching power. X-Men with Phoenix and the Best Kree Team (BKT) with Vision as a Defense Up buffer are also strong counters, capable of surviving the opening turns and overcoming the Asgardian team.
Other Asgardian Teams
The Bifrost team in Marvel Strike Force includes Beta Ray Bill, Loki (Teen), Sylvie, and Vahl, often accompanied by Loki. This team is regarded as the strongest Asgardian lineup for Raids, although it may soon be surpassed in the evolving raid meta. All members of Bifrost are also classified as Asgardians, and the team is generally considered superior to the Hero Asgardian lineup. Vahl is a valuable investment, frequently used in Dark Dimension content or alongside other characters that rely on Exposed mechanics. Loki is essential for completing Old Man Logan trials. The original Asgardians consist of Thor, Loki, and Hela. A Villain Asgardian team featuring Hela, Iron Man (Zombie), Loki, Sylvie, and Loki (Teen) can be effective as a counter, particularly after Valkyrie is defeated. Looking ahead, Odin is expected to be introduced and may surpass the current Asgardian characters, with Vahl potentially remaining an exception due to her strength.
