The Nihonzaru is an unreleased, Rare pet that will be introduced in Roblox: Grow a Garden Zen Update. Its anticipated release date is July 19th, 2025. The Nihonzaru has a hunger value of 8,000. The Nihonzaru resembles a real-life Nihonzaru.
How to Obtain Grow a Garden Nihonzaru
Zen Egg
The Nihonzaru is intended to be obtained from the Zen Egg. The Zen Egg is classified as a Legendary egg. The hatch chance for the Shiba Inu from the Zen Egg is 31.94%.
Players can acquire Zen Eggs by completing Zen Quests offered by the NPC Monk Unc during the Zen Event. Zen Eggs can also be purchased from the Tranquil Treasure Shop within the Zen Event for 30 Chi (event currency) or 149 Robux.
Additionally, there will be a new feature where players can trade in Zen pets for a chance to receive rewards like Zen Eggs. The chance of hatching a Nihonzaru from a Zen Egg is 31.94%.
Grow a Garden Nihonzaru: Passive Ability
The Nihonzaru’s unique passive ability is called “Bathe Time”. For this passive to activate, you must have a Hot Spring placed in your garden. When a Hot Spring is present, the Nihonzaru will bathe in it, and this action will boost the passives of all other pets in your garden by a small amount.
The Hot Spring is a Zen-themed item that can be crafted in a new craftable area in the middle of the map, or acquired as a quest item. It is also available for purchase in the Tranquil Treasure Shop for 30 Chi or 149 Robux.

The Zen Event, which introduces the Nihonzaru, is set to replace the Prehistoric Event in the game. The event itself is scheduled to begin on July 19th, 2025, and conclude on July 26th, 2025.
