Understanding Resonators

Wuthering Waves Ultimate Resonator Guide: Resonators are the playable characters in Wuthering Waves, each wielding unique abilities through a power called Forte, which defines their combat style. Upon Awakening, they gain enhanced powers and a Tacet Mark—proof of their deep bond with resonance. While most are human, not all Resonators are limited to humanity, reflecting the broader nature of resonance.
Team Composition and Roles

A well-balanced team is essential for success in Wuthering Waves, with each team consisting of three Resonators fulfilling distinct roles. Proper synergy between these roles ensures efficient damage output, survivability, and smooth combat rotations.

Building an Effective Team

Build your team with a strong Main DPS, a Synergy unit for buffs or reactions, and a Support for healing or utility. Balance elements to boost resonance effects. A well-rounded team ensures smooth rotations, high damage, and survivability.
Recruiting Resonators

Recruiting Resonators in Wuthering Waves primarily occurs through the Convene system, the game’s gacha mechanic, where players spend in-game currency for a chance to obtain specific characters. However, several Resonators can be acquired for free through gameplay progression and events.
Sanhua
Can be claimed for free by logging in for five consecutive days during the Gifts of Thawing event.
While the Convene system offers opportunities to obtain more characters, making use of free Resonators ensures a solid foundation for early and mid-game content.
Resonator Progression: Enhancing Your Team
Resonator Sample Stats by Level:

Resonance Chain – Enhance a Resonator’s abilities through six unique passive upgrades. They’re unlocked using Wavebands, usually obtained from duplicates via Convenes or bought with in-game currency. Rover is the exception, earning Wavebands through missions and the Relic Merchant.
Weapons
Weapons are crucial for boosting a Resonator’s stats and granting them an additional passive ability through their Weapon Ability. Like Resonators, weapons can be leveled up to 90 and must be ascended at certain thresholds. Each weapon starts at Rank 1 and can be enhanced to Rank 5 using the Synthesis function, improving its passive effects. Since Resonators have specific weapon types, it’s essential to equip a weapon that matches their compatibility for optimal performance.
Echoes
Echoes act as gear that boost stats and grant abilities. Each Resonator equips five Echoes, with the first slot setting the active skill. Echoes have a Cost (1–4), and the total Cost cap starts at 10, upgradeable to 12. Use matching sets for Sonata Effects, but duplicates won’t trigger set bonuses, so choose wisely.
Mastering these progression systems ensures that your Resonators reach their full potential, allowing for stronger performance in combat and better synergy in team compositions.
