Get ready, gardeners! The highly anticipated Kitchen Storm Update (Version 1.18.0) has officially landed in Roblox: Grow a Garden on August 9, 2025.

This massive expansion builds upon last week’s Cooking update, bringing a whirlwind of new content, features, and delicious challenges to your garden. With new plants, pets, items, and a powerful server-wide event, your culinary adventures are about to get even spicier!

Unleash the Grow a Garden Kitchen Storm!

The Kitchen Storm isn’t just a weather event; it’s a game-changer for your cooking endeavors. To trigger this server-wide storm, you need to fill up the Kitchen Storm Bar above the Chris P NPC at the center of the map.

You do this by submitting cooked food to him. The rarer the food, the more points you earn towards filling the bar:

Once the meter hits 40 points, the Kitchen Storm begins! During the storm:

Your cooking speed doubles. You gain an increased chance of getting mutations for your food items. Crops will receive the brand-new Aromic mutation, which sells for a good price. You can level up the storm up to four times by continuing to submit food, further boosting cooking speed.

Meet the Rat Connoisseur!

A new NPC, the Food Connoisseur (a charming rat located right next to the Cooking Pot), has arrived. This discerning critic is on the hunt for mutated dishes! Submit your mutated meals to him, and he’ll present you with a choice of one out of three exclusive new rewards for each dish you provide.

Some of the possible rewards from the Rat Connoisseur include:

• Culinarian Chest (40% chance).
• Spring Onion (30% chance).
• Bitter Melon (5% chance).
• Aromic Pet Mutation Shard (20% chance).
• Gorilla Chef (5% chance).
• Sunny-Side Chicken (30% chance).

Various other items like the Cooking Cauldron, Gourmet Seed Pack, Gourmet Egg, Kitchen Cart, Kitchen Crate, Kitchen Flooring, and Smoothie Fountain.

A new in-game Recipe Book has been added to help you track every dish you discover and the ingredients required to make them.

Discover the Culinarian Chest (containing pets and seeds), the Kitchen Crate (for new cosmetics), and the Pet Shard Aromatic. Also, spruce up your garden with over 13 new cosmetics!

Developers have implemented various improvements, including the ability to have overlapping weather, Reclaimer now working on gold/rainbow plants, improved French Fry Ferret passive, a slight nerf to Mochi Mouse, and many other bug fixes and performance optimizations. Plus, higher-tier dishes are now easier to make, and a new Transcendent rarity for food has been added.
