Pet Mutations are a new feature introduced in the Pet Mutation update (Version 1.14.0) of Roblox: Grow a Garden. This mechanic allows you to modify and upgrade your pets, giving them new abilities, boosting their stats, and enhancing their passive traits.
These mutations work similarly to the mutations found on crops, but are specifically for pets. There are currently 12 active Pet Mutations available in the game. Obtaining Grow a Garden Pet Mutations can help your high-level pets gain significant power-ups, leading to better chances at acquiring high-value mutations on fruits and ultimately increasing your profits.
How to Get Grow a Garden Pet Mutations
To mutate your pets, you’ll need to use the dedicated Pet Mutation machine. This machine can be found by heading to the other end of the map, or more specifically, to the left of the Gear and Pet Eggs stall, where the Pet Egg Shop display used to be. The machine itself is described as a green pod.
Follow these steps to mutate your pet:
- Locate the Pet Mutation machine.
- Equip a level 50 (or above) pet
- Press ‘E’ to submit the pet into the machine.
- You will need a 500,000,000 Sheckles to start the process.
- A timer will appear, indicating the mutation process has begun. The process takes approximately one hour to complete.
- Once the timer runs down to zero, press ‘E’ again to pick up your newly mutated pet.
Important Considerations for Grow a Garden Pet Mutations:
The mutation your pet receives is random. After mutation, your pet’s age will reset back to 1. If you submit an already mutated pet into the machine, it will replace its existing mutation with a new random one. The waiting process for the mutation can be skipped for 49 Robux.

Many Grow a Garden Pet Mutations are strong and can help you in various ways. While all mutations offer benefits, Ascended is highly recommended if you can obtain it due to its immense value multiplier. Other strong mutations like Frozen and IronSkin can also significantly help you earn more Sheckles and protect your farm.
