The Tempestuous Mutation is a unique and valuable environmental mutation in Grow a Garden that significantly increases the worth of your crops. When a crop has the Tempestuous Mutation, it will have rapid wind particles swooping around it; similar to crops with Windstruck Mutation.
The Tempestuous mutation provides a 12x multiplier to the value of your crops. While some players mention this as a “possibly x12 value multiplier”. 12x is the consistently reported multiplier.
How to Get the Grow a Garden Tempestuous Mutation
The Tempestuous mutation is primarily triggered when specific underlying mutations combine on a single crop.
Required Mutations
A crop will automatically obtain the Tempestuous Mutation when it has the Windstruck, Twisted, Wet (Possibly Cloudtouched or Amber Mutations) simultaneously. It is important to note that obtaining all of these mutations on the same crop is quite difficult to accomplish.

Note: Sprinklers have chance to apply Wet Mutation on crops.
Cloudtouched Mutation Method
Players have discovered that combining the Cloudtouched Mutation Spray or the Amber Mutation Spray on crops with (Twisted + Windstruck + Wet) significantly increases your chances of triggering the Tempestuous Mutation.
To obtain the Grow a Garden Tempestuous Mutation, the key is to have a crop with the Wet, Twisted and Windstruck mutations already applied. Once your crop has these conditions, using a Cloudtouched Mutation Spray will cause the Twisted and Windstruck mutations to combine and transform into the Tempestuous Mutation, while also retaining the Wet and Cloudtouched Mutation for added benefits.
Amber Mutation Method
Same thing happens when you use an Amber Mutation Spray. If you have a crop that already possesses the Twisted, Windstruck, and Wet mutations, applying an Amber Mutation Spray will also lead to the Tempestuous Mutation. This process effectively merges the existing Twisted and Windstruck mutations into Tempestuous Mutation, without removing the additional Wet and Amber mutation from your crop.
Some community reports suggest that the Tempestuous Mutation is obtained by combining only the Windstruck and Twisted mutations; however, even if a crop has the stated prerequisite mutations (e.g., Windstruck + Twisted), it might not combine into the Tempestuous mutation. This suggests there might be a percentage chance for the combination to occur, or it could be a glitch that developers are working to fix.
