How to Get Grow a Garden Aromatic Mutation
Kitchen Storm
The Kitchen Storm is a player-triggered event that is the main highlight of the Cooking Expansion update.
It’s a powerful storm that grants the Aromatic mutation and can be leveled up four times by submitting food, with each stage further boosting cooking speed.
To start a Kitchen Storm, you need to fill up the Kitchen Storm Bar above the Chris P NPC at the center of the map. You fill this meter by giving Chris P cooked food items. The event automatically starts for the entire server once the meter reaches 40 points.
During the Kitchen Storm, your cooking speed doubles, and the chance of getting a mutation for your food items increases. It also adds the possibility of producing the Aromatic mutation on plants.
You can work collaboratively with other players to achieve minimum cooking speeds. Players can continue giving Chris P more food items to upgrade the Storm Level, with each level increasing cooking speed and boosting other perks.
Pet Shard Aromatic
This is a gear item that applies the Grow a Garden Aromatic Mutation to a pet.
It is the fourth pet mutation shard in the game and was added on August 9th, 2025, during the second half of the Cooking Event. The shard resembles a light-yellow hexagon with glowing particles inside.
The Pet Shard Aromatic can only be acquired as a reward from the Rat Connoisseur NPC. The Rat Connoisseur is a new NPC, a rat wearing a suit and top-hat, introduced with the Kitchen Storm Update, positioned next to the Cooking Pot. He only accepts mutated food items.
Grow a Garden Aromatic Mutation is highly sought after because it significantly boosts the selling price of affected crops by 18x. Mastering how to obtain this mutation can transform your in-game income.
