Pelican Town

Pelican Town, located in Stardew Valley, is where the player relocates at the beginning of the game. It serves as the central hub where most villagers live, work, and gather. Lewis has served as Pelican Town’s mayor for over two decades. He notes that he hasn’t faced any challengers for the position since first being elected. The town is accessible from several directions: the northwest leads to the Bus Stop and the Farm; the southwest path goes to Cindersap Forest, home to Marnie’s Ranch, Leah’s Cottage, and the Wizard’s Tower. To the south lies the Beach, while the northern route leads to the Mountain, where you’ll find Robin’s Carpenter Shop, the Mines, the Adventurer’s Guild, the Railroad, and the Quarry.

At the start of the game, weeds can be found in several locations around town—near 2 Willow Lane, behind 1 Willow Lane, behind JojaMart, and west of the Community Center below the playground. These weeds disappear during Winter but will reappear at the beginning of each new year. If the player attempts to chop down most trees within town, a message will appear stating: “I shouldn’t cut down trees in town.”

Fishing

River fish are found in the river that runs through Pelican Town. During Fall, you can catch the Legendary Fish known as the Angler at the river’s northern end. Ms. Angler, part of the Legendary Fish II group, can also be caught in the same spot.

Fishing in the fountain to the left of the Community Center has a chance to yield a present box containing a Decorative Trash Can (10% chance). Otherwise, you’ll catch either a single piece of wood or stone, each with a 45% chance.
