The Culinarian Chest is a limited-time chest introduced on August 9th, 2025, as part of the new Kitchen Storm Update in Roblox: Grow a Garden.
It serves as a key prize, replacing previous chests like the Kitsune Chest, and is designed to provide players with some of the game’s newest and most exclusive pets and seeds.
How to Obtain Grow a Garden Culinarian Chest
Acquiring the Grow a Garden Culinarian Chest is directly linked to participating in the Rat Connoisseur event, which is a central feature of the Kitchen Storm Update.
This new NPC is a giant rat adorned with a mustache, suit, and top-hat, found at the center of the map. The Rat Connoisseur exclusively accepts mutated food items.
To make mutated food, you must use crops that already have mutations as ingredients in your cooking pot. The more mutated ingredients you use, and the rarer those mutations are, the higher the chance that the final cooked dish will also be mutated.
A Mutation Meter above the cooking pot indicates the likelihood of mutation carryover; a rate of 60% or 80% and above generally guarantees a mutation on the dish.
Cooking during a Kitchen Storm event significantly increases the chances of mutations carrying over to your food.
Using heavier or larger crops can also result in bigger dishes and potentially better rewards from the Rat Connoisseur. Hold the mutated food item in your hand, interact with the Rat Connoisseur (using the ‘E’ key), and select the option “Try this food I cooked up!”.
After reviewing your dish, the Rat Connoisseur will present you with a selection of three random rewards, from which you can choose one. Grow a Garden Culinarian Chest has a 40% chance of being offered as one of these rewards.
Keep in mind that Grow a Garden Culinarian Chest is a limited-time item and may not be available once the event concludes.

This event doubles your cooking speed, increases mutation carryover chances, and adds opportunities for the beneficial Aromatic mutation on your crops. Always use plants with existing mutations when cooking for the Rat Connoisseur to ensure your final dish is mutated and eligible for the best rewards.
If you acquire the Gorilla Chef pet and have a cooking cauldron, utilize its food duplication ability to produce more mutated dishes efficiently.
