Introduction to Civilization Cards in Evony
On the 28th of November, 2024, Evony Civilization Cards were introduced to the game. These cards can be accessed through the Art Hall building, and offer a range of buffs. It is vital that you understand the Evony Civilization Cards to ensure you are maximizing your buffs – especially as these buffs can be obtained for free!
Evony Civilization Cards Explained
The Civilization Cards in Evony are – as you may have guessed – a collection of cards (think back to Pokemon for example). You can open virtual card packs within Evony to receive 5 random cards. Depending on the type of pack you open, you will receive different rarities of cards. Completing a set of these cards will let you unlock rewards such as more packs, resources, and most importantly, buffs.
Rarities of Civilization Cards
There are five rarities of Evony Civilization Cards available from packs currently (in ascending order): Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and Epic. The higher the rarity, the less Composition Tickets you will need to spend when composing (although more on this later!).
Civilization Pack Chances
The pack type you open will determine your chances of getting each rarity. There are currently two known packs in Evony:
- Uncommon – this can be claimed once for free every day at server rest
- Rare – this can be bought for real money
The chances of each pack are as follows:
- Uncommon
- ?% Epic
- ?% Legendary
- ?% Rare
- ?% Uncommon
- ?% Common
- Rare:
- 0.23% Epic
- 0.47% Legendary
- 0.7% Rare
- 28.17% Uncommon
- 70.42% Common
- Guaranteed to receive at least one card of Rare rarity of higher
Opening Civilization Card Packs
To open a pack, you simply click on the respective series, then click “Open Card Pack”. Here you can choose to open 1 or 10 packs at a time, you can also claim your free daily pack.
When opening a pack, you will receive 5 cards that are shown face down. You can either open these cards individually, or open them at the same time.
Evony Civilization Cards Material Explained
There are three types of Civilization Card materials – Silver, Gold, and Diamond. The different variation of card material is used when collecting cards for each series (more on series later). So for example, the first series, World Civilizations, actually has three layers to it – Silver, Gold, and Diamond. Completing all three layers will unlock all of the buffs available. Naturally, as you increase in card material, the buffs you receive from completing a set will increase.
It is uncertain at time of writing whether Gold and Diamond can be achieved through opening Civilization Card packs, or they can strictly only be achieved through composing cards.
Composing Evony Civilization Cards
To compose a card, you must have 10 copies of the same card, or at least 1 copy of the card and enough composition tickets (more on this later) to compose. The number of composition tickets you will require, depends on the rarity of the card you are composing.
When you compose a Silver card, you have a 90% chance of receiving a Gold version of that card, and a 10% chance of receiving a Diamond
We are uncertain at time of writing as to the cost of composing a Gold version of the card, and will update this guide as we learn further information.
Demolishing Evony Civilization Cards
To gain Composition Tickets, you can demolish Evony Civilization cards. This means you can ‘recycle’ cards into these tickets – the tickets can then be used when upgrading the material level of a card. You can only demolish duplicate cards, and you can filter the cards by material, rarity, series, and sub-section of each series.
Currently we are looking for further information on demolishing cards.
Series of Evony Civilization Cards
At time of writing, there is currently only one series – “World Civilizations” – although we believe that the number of series will increase with future updates. You can check your progress of a series when you click onto it. It will summarize how many cards you have out of the maximum number, and also how many cards from each category you own:

3 Tips to Help You Succeed in Evony Civilization Cards
- Do NOT upgrade Silver cards to Gold / Diamond until you have completed the set – the last thing you would want is for you to nearly complete the Silver set, only to realize the card you turned into Gold is actually the one card you are now missing, and standing in the way between yourself and buffs.
- Make sure to claim your free pack every single day – add it to your daily to-do list. You can check out Theria’s Evony daily to do list for inspiration here.
- When composing to a card to a higher level but you don’t have enough cards – ensure you compose the highest rarity you can in order to reduce the number of composition tickets required
Conclusion on Evony Civilization Cards
In conclusion, the Evony civilization cards add any other aspect and layer to the game – whilst of course those who spend will benefit the most, it is not totally unachievable for free-to-play players, which is always good to see.
It is interesting to see Evony add these types of features to the game – personally, it feels like Evony is heavily starting to follow trends, and its become less and less clear the links between some of the recent features, and the game itself. Whilst I understand from a marketing perspective what Evony is doing, it begs the question of how sustainable this practice is – features like this one, in my opinion, clutter the game more than they add to it I think… but what do you think? Will you be excited to open some Evony Civilization Cards?
