Evony Server Merges Explained

Have you just received notice that your server is being merged? Not to worry, this guide will discuss everything you need to know about Evony server merges so that you can understand the process and prepare yourself and your team!

First of all, lets discuss what is a server merge in Evony. A server merge is quite simply the joining of two servers. This means that players from both servers will now play on one server together. For this guide, I will use server 1401 and server 1404 as an example to discuss what this means, and what will happen when they merge.

Getting Start with Server Merge

What server merges into the other server is based on your SVS ranking. So in our example, server 1401 is ranked 797 in Elite League with 1,142,402 score, and server 1404 is ranked 832 in Elite League with 1,033,080 score. This means that server 1404 will merge into 1401 and the server will be known as server 1401+1404.

Implications of a Server Merge

Here are the implications of the merger:

• All players information will remain the same (VIP level, gems, resources, sub cities, troops etc.)
• Server 1401 will keep all of its subs (owned by player and NPC)
• Server 1404 NPC subs will be removed, and player-owned subs will be moved to server 1401
• Both servers will have their bookmarks deleted
• All troops outside of the city will be automatically returned to your keep
• All monsters / resources / relics will be removed (and monsters / resources will be re-populated)
• All rankings will be reset and refreshed. The server ranking will be server 1401’s.
• Server 1404’s throne history, titles, empire name, kings etc. will be deleted
• Server 1401 will keep its throne history, kings, and titles
• Throne war will begin 24 hours after server merge
• If a player has only had king wings once before merger, they will need to get it two times again after merger. Those that already have unlocked Monarch’s Glory (been king twice) will remain unlocked
• Monarch competition events will reset
• Undead and monarch competition history will be removed
• The mails of server 1404 players will be deleted
• If the merge occurs on a SVS week, SVS will still take place. Server 1401 can see the SVS opponent before the merge, server 1404 cannot
• The prestige rankings will be merged together – meaning that you may lose your ranking and therefore sub slots. It is very important to make sure you have set up your subs correctly before the merge. You won’t be forced to drop subs, but it means for example you might go from 7 sub slots to 6 sub slots, so you would go from 7/6, to 6/6 if you dropped a sub. So you would have to drop two subs before you can capture a sub

Tips for Server Merge

One tip before you merge is to reach out to the server you are merging with. Get a feel for their players, and try work out how the merged server will operate. As I am writing this, server 1401 and 1404 is currently discussing rules surrounding NAP and how king is decided etc. Ironing these things out before you merge will help make the transition a lot smoother.

Another tip would be that if you are just under the threshold for achieving your next rank, and therefore another sub slot, do your best to get that prestige, unlock the sub slot, and capture your desired sub before the merge. Once your servers merge, this will become a lot more difficult – especially if you are merging with a much older server.

A final tip would be to ensure that if you have any NPC subs you use for General Levelling, make sure to pick them up on an account regardless of whether you are being merged into or the one moving. If you are moving like server 1404, your sub will be deleted. If you are being merged into like server 1401, the sub might be taken by a hostile server 1404 player. It is better to be safe than sorry!
