Upgrading the Warehouse increases the amount of resources that can be protected and stored within your city.
A higher Warehouse level provides several benefits:
- Protection from enemy looting: Increases the amount of resources protected if your city is attacked and defeated.
- Protection from troop upkeep: Increases the amount of Food that can be stored without being automatically consumed by your troops.
- Higher gathering storage: Increases the amount of resources that can be brought back from Resource Tiles and Relics.
The Warehouse is also required for upgrading the Pasture, so you may need to raise its level as part of your city progression.

All Warehouse menu features remain available while the building is being upgraded.
The Duty feature unlocks at Warehouse Level 23.
Milestones
The main Warehouse milestone is Level 23, which unlocks the Duty Officer feature.
Upgrade requirements (resources, etc.)
Upgrading the Warehouse requires increasing amounts of resources and construction time as its level rises.
The displayed Construction Time depends on your current Construction Speed bonuses, so the actual upgrade time may vary between players.
You can check your Construction Speed under the Administration section of the Monarch Details screen.

Duty Officer
The Warehouse Duty Officer feature unlocks at Warehouse Level 23.
Assigning a Duty Officer to the Warehouse increases the amount of resources protected from enemy looting and the amount of Food protected from troop upkeep.
Any General who meets the Duty Officer requirements can be assigned to receive the standard Warehouse bonuses. However, Philippa is the best option, followed by Guinevere, as their skills provide additional Warehouse benefits.
A General must also meet the required stats before they can be assigned as a Duty Officer.
Ways to increase the amount of Food protected from upkeep
There are five main ways to increase the amount of Food that can be stored without being consumed by troop upkeep:
- Warehouse Level: Upgrade the Warehouse to increase its base protection.
- Research: Upgrade Advancement > Adv Silo, providing up to +200%.
- Defense General: Assign Shajar al-Durr for +200%.
- Warehouse Duty Officer: Provides additional protection depending on Duty Officer rank:
- Junior: +20%
- Medium: +40%
- Senior: +60%
- Special: +100%
- Super: +150%
- Monarch Talent: Select the Level 30 Troop Upkeep talent for +100%.
Example: Warehouse Level 26 — 17.6M Food
With a base protection of 5M, the total can reach approximately 17.6M with:
- Shajar al-Durr: +200%
- Junior Duty Officer: +20%
- Adv Silo Research: +32%
Example: Warehouse Level 30 — 160M Food
With a base protection of 25M, the total can reach approximately 160M with a combined +540% bonus:
- Shajar al-Durr: +200%
- Medium Duty Officer: +40%
- Adv Silo Level 20: +200%
- Troop Upkeep Monarch Talent: +100%
Example: Warehouse Level 35 — 525M Food
With a base protection of 70M, the total can reach approximately 525M with a combined +600% bonus:
- Shajar al-Durr: +200%
- Super Duty Officer: +150%
- Adv Silo Level 20: +200%
- Troop Upkeep Monarch Talent: +100%
