General Ascending

General Ascending is when you upgrade your generals using Blood of Ares and General Fragments. A general can be ascended 5 times, for a total of 10 stars (5 stars normal, 5 stars ascended). As a general ascends, it unlocks a new buff/debuff – which totally changes what the most powerful generals are.

As a general ascends, it shall receive a stat boost. A level 1 ascension equals a stat boost in Leadership, level 2 is Attack, level 3 is Defense, Level 4 is Politics, and Level 5 is Special Skill.

There are some pre-requisites that must be fulfilled before Ascending a general, these are:

  • General must be at least level 22
  • Must have 5 stars
  • Required number of Blood of Ares
  • Required number of General Fragement

The table below shows the requirements for each stage / level of ascension:

Level:Stage:Blood of Ares:Fragments:
11-4804
1530014
21-41008
2535028
31-411012
3545042
41-413016
4555056
51-415020
5565070

This shows that in total, you will require 4,580 Blood of Ares, and 450 General Fragments in order to reach 10 stars.

Blood of Ares can be won from SVS, 145 daily activity points (max 1 per day), B11+ or event level 3+ bosses (max 3 per day), exploring relics (max 2 per day), gathering at level 13+ resource spots (max 1 per day), events, or packs.

General Fragments are acquired from Perfectly Dismissing generals, and will cost 10,000 gems to do so and give you 30 fragments of that general in return. There are also occasionally events to acquire fragments of specific generals.

Due to the difficulty in acquiring all of the fragments for maximum ascension, it is typically advised to ascend Relic / Tavern generals, and premium generals (those from coining) are hard to come by, and a 10 star tavern general is typically a lot better than a 6 star premium general.

Is it worth ascending duty generals in this game. There seems to be disagreement in my alliance if they work as stated.
