What are Evony Dragons
Evony Dragons work similarly to Spiritual Beasts (although a lot more powerful), and can be equipped to generals. These dragons can be levelled up, refined, and have special talents and skills unlocked. They also boost generals attributes, and can even stop Generals from dying.
Evony Dragons can be located in either the Dragon Cliff building (unlocked at k30), or the pasture (unlocked at k24).
Each Dragon has its own unique buffs, and should be applied to certain marches in order to maximise the efficiency of the dragon. Some generals require a dragon in order to unlock all of the Generals special skill buff. An example of this is Minamoto who receives a further 15% ranged attack when accompanied with a dragon.
Evony dragons show on the world map when you are marching a General that is equipped with one. This can be a positive or a negative, a lack of dragon may suggest a weak march or a fake march, whereas with a dragon may suggest a strong march, or you can use it to fake a strong march (for a Temple during SVS for example). The type of dragon is also shown on the map, which may give away what type of troops you are marching (as certain dragons should be used with certain march types).

How to Unlock the New Evony Dragon Radiantwyrm
To unlock the new Dragon, Radiantwyrm, you should acqurie the Radiantwyrm Pattern from the Wheel of Dragon War event. This is a limited time event, and it is not sure yet if it will be a re-occurring event or yet. You have a 0.16% chance with each spin to gain the Radiantwyrm Pattern – this means that you should average around 625 spins to unlock the pattern – although you are guaranteed to receive it within 300 spins. This means that it will cost 1000$ to unlock, although this is reduced to 400$ if you use triple and double coupons.
How to Unlock Gorynych
This dragon can be located in the Dragon Cliff under “Elder Dragon”. This is a new category of Dragon added to Evony on the 11th of June, 2024.
Requirements to Unlock Gorynych
To unlock Gorynych you must first own Ladon (which can be unlocked using a Dragon egg), and then ‘Awaken’ Gorynych by using 3 Elder Dragon Scrolls.
How to Obtain Elder Dragon Scrolls
Elder Dragon Scrolls can be unlocked by placing in the top 50 of an All-Star Battlefield three times. This means that only the very elite players in Evony will be able to unlock Elder Dragons.
Unlocking Gorynych
Once you have met the requirements to unlock Gorynych, you should head to the Dragon Cliff, and then to Elder Dragon. Here you can Awaken Gornynych. One thing that is not yet known, is whether Ladon will be consumed in this process or not – this guide will be updated once this information is known.
How to Unlock Fasolt Dragon
To unlock the new Dragon Fasolt (added 12/01/2023), you must redeem 800 Napoleon Gold Coins, in the Napoleon’s Treasure Redeem area. The cheapest way to achieve this is:
- Collect 12 coins in lead up to event
- Gain 44 coins from Daily Activites across event
- Score at least top three in Expedition to Egypt event for 200 coins
- Purchase 2 x $99 packs with triple coupons to gain 600 coins
This will leave you with 816 to 856 coins, with a total cost of $198. Should you fail to place in the top three of the Expedition event, you can instead use two triple coupons on $99 packs, and a double coupon on a $99 pack, for the dragon with a total cost of $297.
How to get a Dragon Egg
You can get a Dragon Egg by achieving well in an All-Star battlefield. You need to win 150 Galaxy Coins which you can exchange in the All-Star Battlefield shop for a Dragon Egg.
How to get a Legendary Dragon Egg
To get a Legendary Dragon Egg you must place within the top 200 of an All-Star Battlefield. Everyone in the top 200 will receive an egg. This means that in order to unlock the three dragons that require this egg, you must place in the top 200 three times.
How to Level up a Dragon in Evony
Evony dragons can be ‘fed’, and doing this will increase its experience amount, leading to it to level up. Dragons consume a variety of items, with varying experience rewarded for each item:
- Excellent Dragon Coin X1 -> EXP+14,000 X10
- Bright Dragon Coin x1 -> EXP+10,500 X5
- Resource x1M -> EXP+691
- Gem x1-> EXP+3.2
- Gold 1M -> EXP+3,840
- Refining Stone x1 -> EXP+192
- Research Stone x1 -> EXP+192
- Source of Life x1 -> EXP+1,920
- Revival Stone x1 -> EXP+7,680
- Medal x1 -> EXP+3.84
- Badge x1 -> EXP+1,799.5
- Lv6 Material x1 -> EXP+11,664
- Lv7 Material x1 -> EXP+34,992
There are many multiples of this feeding list, but I used 1 as a denominator so you can understand what each item is worth. It is recommended to save feeding Dragon’s until the Dragon Feeding event where you will get rewards for consuming these items. During this event you earn up to 25 dragon coins which will greatly boost your feeding efforts. These coins can also be purchased in packs.
You can feed a dragon six times, and this is refreshed for free every day at reset. You can further refresh the feeding chances up to 10 times, with each time costing in increments of 2,000 gems. There is a maximum of 30 feed chances per day (so if you refresh 10 times, you will have had 66 options to feed the dragon, but you can only use 30 of these chances). This is per dragon.

Dragon Level Skill Buffs
As a dragon increases in level in Evony, it unlocks new skills. These skills vary from dragon to dragon, and have a maximum of level 15, except for Elder Dragons, which have a maximum of level 20.
Level 10 Dragons – Special Ability
Once your dragon reaches level 10, when applied to a general, that general will never die. Obviously this is useful for attacking, but can be particularly useful if you remain ghosting size in order to always maintain a defense general without it being killed whilst you are ghosting. Some players with excess dragons even put them on subordinate cities in order to reduce the amount of sub gens killed in an attack or defense.
Full List of Skill Buffs
This is a full list of skill buffs assuming each dragon is level 15, unless stated otherwise. Elder Dragons can reach up to level 20 skill effects.

How to Refine
Evony Dragons refinement works very similar to General refining. There are four refining opportunities, on a scale of grey, purple, orange, and gold. These refines can offer great buffs, and play a massive part in the overall buff given by the dragon.
Refinement Cost
Exact refinement cost varies for each dragon, although you have two options – to refine with gems, or to refine with badges. Both options will require refining stones. Going by the battleshield shop, it is more efficient to refine with badges (due to badges to gems exchange rate). Locking a refine increases in increments of 5 dragon crystals.
Evony Dragon Talents
What are Evony Dragon Talents
Evony dragon Talents are buffs that can be unlocked at certain dragon and pasture levels. There are two types of buffs: Dragon Talent, and Active Talent. The Dragon Talent is always on whenever a General is equipped with that Dragon, and the buff from the talent will affect that General. The Active Talent is a buff that can be activated and lasts a certain length of time, before entering a cool down time. Each dragon has three buffs – two Dragon Talent’s and one Active Talent.
How to Upgrade Talents
Talents can be upgraded using gems, battlefield badges / dragon crystals, and dragon source fragments. Evony Dragon Talent’s are limited to level 100, and the Active Talent is limited to level 60.
