Seemingly as a result of a coin strike, the Evony Family Group was introduced to Evony on the 21st of October, 2024. This allows you to link “Family Members” (a.k.a. alt accounts) to your account, meaning you can take resources from them without punishment.
The Evony Family Group Feature Explanation
You can create, or be invited to (but I would recommend only creating one for your main and your alts, not joining others Families) an Evony Family Group. To access the Evony Family Group, go to your Settings > Account > Family Group. Here you can create a Family Group and invite people. To invite your alt accounts, click “Tap to invite a player”, and then input their player ID. You can get their player ID by clicking on them > Detail > and then the ID is located just under their name.

How to Transfer Resources between Accounts
When the update first launched people were concerned as to whether accounts could be transported looted or not, this reply from Evony’s Customer Support team confirms they can be transported and looted:

Transport
The safest way to transfer resources if to transport resources from your Family Members to your main account. This is because you do not require to drop your bubble, meaning there is no risk of being attacked. Despite this, it may not be the best option. There is a tax associated with transferring resources, this tax is dependent on your Embassy level. The fee’s ranged from 60% at level 1, to 15% at level 30+ .

Looting
If you will be safe from being attacked whilst looting, this is the best way to obtain resources. There is a 0% tax associated with looting, unlike the transport method. If you are on a NAP server, then you can simply port next to your alt and hit away. If you are on a BOB server, then you could have a teammate reinforce you, or be quick on your toes and be ready to shield (you, and your alts).
How to get more Family Members
The number of Family Members for Evony Family Group is tied to your VIP level. The thresholds are as follows:
- VIP 1 – 1 Account
- VIP 12 – 2 Accounts
- VIP 15 – 3 Accounts
- VIP 19 – 4 Accounts
- VIP 23 – 5 Accounts
Thanks to BigT for providing the screenshots for this data! It doesn’t explicitly say the number of accounts you can make until you try to add them and reach the cap.
Should you Create a Family Group
After the update, many players have been speculating as to whether or not they should create a family group. This section will discuss those concerns and my take on whether or not they should cause alarm.
- “What if Evony decides to roll back on this update and now has the road map to everyone’s alt accounts?”
This is definitely a valid concern amongst the player base at time of writing (day of the update), and to be honest we will just need to see how things pan out. At this point, there is no better alternative anyway, you still run the risk of bans if you hit alts at the moment. I think if Evony was to move away from this policy, and then use it to punish people, the uproar from the community would be like nothing we have ever had before – it would make the 2024 coin strike look small. Personally this is not something that I am worried about – but it is anyone’s guess at the moment.
- “How would selling / giving my account away work now?”
I am uncertain as to what the T&C’s state in this regard, but assuming it is fine, then I don’t believe anything really changes. You don’t need to give away your alts with your main – people can still plunder alts outside of families (albeit it run a risk). The only impact I really see this having for alts is a reduction in value for alts that have been linked to a family that is no longer together as a set.
- “How will this effect plundering others alts in SVS / KE – can I get banned?”
Again, at time of writing we are still waiting to see how this plays out. Evony is now essentially allowing alt accounts, so I would imagine it will incentivize more players to have alts – especially the non-hardcore players, which will increase the number of alts dropping bubbles and leaving tasty rss behind. Will players get banned for attacking these alts? I hope not, but there has been reports before coming out of the Evony community about players being banned for hitting resource spots during killing event.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding this update upon release, many players are stating they will wait and see how it all unfolds – personally I will be doing it for science. Hope I don’t get banned!
How to Manage Family Members
The easiest way to manage family members is through using Android Emulators. This allows you to sync operations, and to view all of your accounts at once – this also makes looting a lot easier! Two Android Emulators I would recommend are LD Player, and BlueStacks – there are slight differences in their functions, but overall it is what you enjoy the most.
