The best Evony Ground General Combinations
Below is a table revealing the best Evony Ground General combinations. These generals are all compatibility, and are initially ranked by total buffs – although for Ground generals I recommend sorting by Ground HP or Defense, as this is the most impactful buff for Evony Ground Generals.

The best Evony Assistant Ground Generals
How the Evony Ground General Ranking System Works
The combined Evony Ground General ranking system is shown by default as the total buff for Ground troops (attack + defense + HP). This does not take into account march size / rally buffs.
The Evony Main Ground Generals include information regarding attack, defense, HP, march size, and rally size buffs. They are ranked in order off attack + defense + HP buffs combined, they do not take into account march / rally size buffs.
The Evony Assistant Ground Generals include information regarding attack, defense, HP, march size, and rally size buffs. They are ranked in order off attack + defense + HP buffs combined, they do not take into account march / rally size buffs.
This guide is geared towards your average player, and as such is designed to simplify the process of understanding the best Evony Ground Generals. For the advanced players, I recommend you apply the following logic to your choice of Ground general:
- Setter: Priority towards generals that offer an increase in rally size capacity – look at the main generals section to see this buff, you can sort the main / assistant tables by rally size.
- Filler: Priority towards HP or Defense (jury is still out on which option is better, but do not pick attack) buff for Ground players. Assuming your rallies are being filled, you just look to maximize your buff (rally capacity will have no impact, and there is no need to maximize march size if your teams rallies get filled anyway). You can filter the below by HP or Defense.
- Solo: You should prioritize march size as there is a great deal of defense / HP buffs available from other sources besides the general, but this is not true for march size. You can filter the main / assistant tables below to figure out the best combination for yourself.
Note: All the rankings assume the Evony Ground General is maxed out.

Is it worth switching your Evony Ground Generals?
To switch, or not to switch? An age old question that Evony players have faced for years. Only you can truly know, although I would emphasize the cost of redoing specialties and blood of ares. As the game has gotten older, there is more and more sources of buffs. If you are thinking of making the leap – look at how impactful those materials would be if applied to other PVP generals, or to your sub / duty / senate generals.
