Evony Hecate’s Moon Event Guide

The Hecate’s Moon event is a two day event in Evony that consists of finding and killing ‘Incarnation’ bosses. For small players this event is not very fruitful, although for larger players this event is a great way to earn generals, fragments, and buff giving keep decorations.

How to play Evony’s Hecate’s Moon event

Underworld Keys

To play the Hecate’s Moon event, you acquire Underworld Keys. These keys can be earned by reaching 80 and 110 activity score in the tavern. You can also purchase these keys in a pack costing $9.99 per key.

Summoning Hecate

To summon Hecate, locate the Hecate’s Moon event tab, and then press the go button with the magnifying glass. This will use one of your Underworld Keys. By doing this, you will be redirect to the world map to a figure called “My Black Moon Hecate”. I recommend bookmarking this figure, as if you loose it, it can be a bit of a pain to find (there are consumables you can use to find them – but more on this later).

Upon summoning Hecate, you have five minutes in which to “Visit” them. This requires a free march, and is similar to Visiting celebration squads for example, or Ares statues.

Incarnation Bosses

After visiting Hecate, their location will be replaced with an Incarnation boss – this boss has the same stats as a normal boss (although awards you with prestige and monarch EXP first down rewards). The first boss is seemingly always a level one Sphinx. You again have five minutes to kill this boss – although Incarnation bosses cannot be rallied.

After you kill an incarnation boss, another one will spawn randomly nearby (personally the second boss for myself has always spawned very close to my keep). You will need to continue to kill these bosses, as each has a timer of five minutes to be killed. You may use Ramune on these bosses. The bosses range from event and normal bosses. Each boss you kill on Senior mode will drop 5 Radiant Night Torches, and bosses killed in Medium will drop 4 Radiant Night Torches and double drops do not effect this drop rate (so you cannot get 10 from one boss even with double drop). Evony claims double drops do not work although screenshots from several players show that double drops are working. Goblins give 10 Radiant Night torches, and 20 with double drop.

Lunar Sacred Mirror

Lunar Sacred Mirors allow you to locate the most recent monster associated with the Hecate’s Moon event – whether its an incarnation boss, or Hecate themself. This is useful if you struggle to find them on the map (although they all spawn near by). You can earn four of these for reach activity level 80, and another four for level 110. They are also available to purchase in the $9.99 Hecate’s Moon pack, which includes 8 Lunar Sacred Mirrors.

Hecate’s Moon Event Trial Temples

The final stage of the Hecate’s Moon event is the Trial Temples. You must defeat these in order to complete one challenge round.

There is a chance to encounter “Hecate’s true form”, which allows you to select the difficult level for the Trial Temple. There are three difficulties to select from. The true form’s allow you a selection for each of the following: troop type (New Moon Hecate), number of troops (Black Moon Hecate), and buff amount (Underworld Moon Hecate). These are not exactly fixed, and do vary slightly as shown below.

Easy Difficulty Examples

Ranged Trial Temple with 657% buffs example:

Level 32 Trial Temple has 14M power, with 657% buff for all troops attack, defense, and HP. It has T13 troops, and is T13/12/11 ranged heavy, with layers. A player with 2.7M T14 ground march (including layers) with 797% attack, 975% defense, and 863% HP ground buffs resulted in 0 wounds.

Medium Difficulty Examples:

Siege Trial Temple with 1744% buffs example:

Level 32 Trial Temple has 840M power, with 1744% buff for all troops attack, defense, and HP. It has T15 troops, although is T11/12/13 Siege heavy. A player 2.4M T14 mounted march with layers and 1082% attack, 1034% Defense, and 886% HP siege buffs resulted in 39k T14 wounds.

Mounted Trial Temple with 1690% buffs example:

Level 32 Trial Temple has 840M power, with 1690% buff for all troops attack, defense, and HP. It has T15 troops, although is T11/12/13 cav heavy. A player with 2.5M T14 ranged march with layers and a 1489% attack, 928% defense, and 861% HP archer buffs resulted in 39k T14 wounds.

Rewards

The rewards are split into three groups – Junior, Medium, and Senior. This guide will be updated soon with how the groups work once we have more information.

New Moon Shop

The New Moon Shop allows you to exchange Radiant Night Torches for rewards. These rewards vary from generals, general fragments, to basic things such as gold, speeds, or treasure boxes. A general (limited to one) cost 1,800 Radiant Night Torches, and a Fragment (limited to 15) costs 80.

Keep Decoration – Lagin

You can receive the Keep Decoration “Lagin” from ranking rewards. This decoration has the following buffs:

  • Own: Construction Speed +6%
  • Use: In-City Ranged Troop and Siege Machine Attack +12%
  • Use: In-City Ground Troop Defense +10%
