Evony Safe Resources

With the update on the 7th of December, 2023, Evony mass rolled out Safe Resource for the Ymir event. This was previously tested on a small set of seemingly randomised servers, and was then rolled out to every server.

What are Safe Resources?

Safe resources are found in Ymir Chest’s and are a type of resource that cannot be plundered by enemy players, or consumed by your troops.

These safe resources can be opened and consumed to construct buildings, make troops or traps, and anything else you would normally do with resources except from being plundered, consumed, or transported.

When using a mixture of safe resources and normal resources for construction or troop training, if you cancel the action you will receive 50% of the resources back. These resources come back in the ratio of safe to unsafe resources that you spent on construction or training.

What are Surprise Safe Resource Boxes?

Surprise Safe Resource Boxes are gained randomly during the Ymir event through killing Ymir’s of any level. You can gain up to 35 of these boxes per day (so 70 a fortnight).

Opening these boxes grants you a 20 x 1M Safe resources of a random type (Food/Wood/Stone/Ore).

This means that you can earn an extra 1.4 billion resource every two weeks through surprise safe resources boxes.

How does Safe Resource impact players?

If you play with a few alts, then this at first may seem like a negative, although it may actually be a positive. Sure, 40% of Ymir resources are now in safety boxes, although you will be getting an extra 1.4b in safe resource per event. This resource can be used to level up your alts to k35 which can help you to unlock a sixth march faster, and ultimately 20% more farming / rallying joining capacity.

If you play with many alts, this will probably negatively effect you as creating rally joining accounts is a lot less time consuming than farming accounts. These accounts can be converted to farming accounts using this extra 1.4b of free resource per Ymir event, although will be very time consuming when doing so on a mass scale.

In conclusion, its far from the end of the world – and remember the resource per stamina cost is as follows, and Ymir’s do not occupy all of the top spots:

11/12/2023 – The monarch skill “Resources Critical” that offer up to a 10% chance of x2 resources when opening resource boxes does not work with safe resources.
