Introduction
The event takes place weekly, from every Monday (server reset) for 3 days. Under this trial phase, you can kill up to 50 vikings of your own, to claim rewards at the reward phase. Vikings can be rallied by alliance members only, and they are a fast way to earn gold, research stones, and materials. You can choose from 4 different difficulty levels at the beginning, and there are 4 different Viking Boss for the alliance. Killing each viking will guarantee you Viking Gold Chests, Medals, Material Chests, and Research Stones and possibly drop a poleaxe.
Personal Trial
You can choose to take Easy, Medium, Hard, or Hell difficulty levels. The rewards are higher as the difficulty level is harder.
After you choose your difficulty level, you will automatically get 5 Viking Poleaxes. Poleaxes will let you ask for help on your viking, so someone else in your alliance will be able to rally it for you.
Depending on how far you reached in your personal challenge, you will get extra rewards.
Killing vikings
To kill your vikings, first, you have to summon them, by going into your event center and selecting the Viking Challenge. Summoning a Viking costs 5 stamina. If you mark the „Remind me to continue” check box on this screen, you will get a pop-up message from where you can summon the next one without going to the event center page.
After you summon your Viking it will appear on the world map and you will be automatically redirected to it. Clicking on your viking will give you 2 options, you can attack it solo, or you can „Ask for help” by using a Viking Poleaxe on it.
Ralling vikings
You can rally your own vikings for the benefit of your whole alliance. To rally a viking you must use the Viking Poleaxe on it.
To easily find your fellow member’s vikings, go to your Viking Challenge page and select the „Alliance Trial” tab. You will see all the Vikings which have been asked for help, ranked by difficulty and level.
Soloing or rallying a viking cost 10 stamina.

Viking Challenge Bosses
When your alliance kills a certain number of vikings from a specific difficulty level, the R5 and the R4s will be able to summon the Viking Bosses. These are much more powerful than the normal vikings. After you kill these bosses, they will drop additional reward chests around them, such as resource boxes, gold boxes, material chests. Just like in your personal challenge, these have to be killed in order too.

Fame quests
Practicing in the Viking Challenge can also gain you Fame points. There are 2 different types of Fame quests you can complete with the Viking Challenge, all of them can be found under the Smite section.
You can gain Fame points by completing Easy/Medium/Hard Level Vikings. Keep in mind, that you don’t have to kill all 50 of them to complete these quests, you only have to be in the rally of 50th vikings of each difficulty. That means if you are in a bigger alliance, is enough if only some keep choosing the smaller levels so everyone in the alliance completes these quests. In order they will give you 4,5 and 6 Fame points.
The other section is a bit more difficult to complete, here you have to kill the Viking Bosses: Icebreaker, Berserker, Chief, King of the Vikings 40 times. Eventually, you can get 8,8,8 and 5 Fame points.
Tips to rally the Vikings effectively
If you are in a big alliance, with your fellow members you can make up to 8 viking rallies at a time, without anyone missing any of the rallies, even the ones with only 4 marches.
To do this first you will need a lot of viking summoned. Once you have them you will need 4 keeps with 5 marches, or 2 keeps with 6 marches to start the rallies. Let’s say you only have keeps with 5 marches, all 4 of the rally leaders need to start 1-1 viking rally, with which they will use 4 of their marches. Once the 4 rally is up, the rally leaders will wait for 2.5 minutes, then all of them start a second rally. At this point, you will have 8 rallies up with 2.5 mins gaps between 4-4. Clearly, no one can join into all of them, but the timing will make it work. Since the vikings are really close, the marching time will be less than the 2.5 mins gap. so you will be able to join all of them. Actually, the joining keeps will only need 4 march, the 5th march is needed only for the rally leaders. The alliance members just need to join the rallies by the order of their appearance, and the rally leaders should join only 1 of the others’ rallies. The time gap will allow everyone to rejoin for the next ones.
For example:
- Rally leaders: A,B, keeps
- 1st step: A and B start rallying 2-2 viking 🡪 4 rally up, everyone joins into all of them
- 2nd step: wait for 2.5 mins
- 3rd step: A and B each starting another 2-2 viking rally, they not joining into each others at this point
- 4nd step: the first 2-2 rally is done, A and B joining to the 2nd round of each other’s rally and starting them next 2-2 viking
The arrows represents the rally leaders marches
Conclusion
Vikings can be a bit boring to rally, but the benefits of them is necessary since research is a really big part of the game, and to do that, you need lots of gold and research stones, not to forget about the materials either, to make gear and feed your dragons.
