What is Aptoide and How to Save Money
Evony can be tough – that’s why at Theria we try to help you in every way possible. We have loads of guides, loads of calculators, helping to make everything easier for you – well, except the cost it has on your bank account… until now!
Introducing Aptoide, it is an alternative app store that can save you up to 25% on Evony. So that $100 pack becomes $75 – which over time, really adds up! There is no amount too little or too much either, so whether you use it to get yourself a cheaper deal on the monthly rally card, or fancy yourself a much cheaper way to cake, Aptoide is perfect. Previously Aptoide was limited only to Android players, although recently it has became available to iOS, PC, and Android!
Just by using Aptoide you save money, however if you combine this with an “Aptoide code” – which tend to be given out to content creators in the community or big spenders – you can save even more. I will put any active codes at the top of this guide, and will talk more on depth about the codes later on. First though, let’s talk more about how to get set up with Aptoide.
Getting Started with Aptoide
To get started with Aptoide, head to evony.play.aptoide.com. Here you can log in with Google – don’t worry if your Evony account isn’t linked with Google. This is just to login / register for an Aptoide account:
Once you have logged in with Google, you will see the screen below (in this example I am using PC, but you can use Apple or Android devices too). This is the loading screen, sometimes it takes 10 seconds, and sometimes it can take up to 90 seconds from personal experience. I recommend not switching tabs etc. whilst you wait, just stay on this screen to help it load faster.
Once Evony has loaded you will come to the start of the game screen. Here you should select the culture “Europe” (other cultures can cause glitches). Currently you are making a new account on a new server, but don’t worry, that’s only so you can switch account – which is the next step.
Create the account as Europe, then click through the tutorial (click skip top right to bypass the dialogue / puzzles).
Then, as you would normally, click on the “…” go to “Settings”, then go to “Account”.
Here you can log into your Evony account through either Google or Facebook. In this example I logged in with Facebook.
Now you are loaded into your account, you can buy pink gems or packs at a discount!
Once you have selected what you would like to purchase, just press the “Buy” button as per normal, and then you will be taken to the Aptoide screen to pay. Where it says “Promo Code”, insert an Aptoide code – these codes are usually temporary so sometimes you have to hunt for them. An easy way to find an active code is to join the Theria Discord – we have a channel where we post active codes. Using a promo code will get you an extra 5% bonus. After you insert a code, you can then pay using things like PayPal or your credit card.
How Does Aptoide Work?
As previously mentioned, Aptoide is an alternative app store. This means its not one of the mainstream ones (think Apple’s App Store, or Android’s Google Play). Mainstream app stores charge apps a massive fee on every in-game purchase you make, which then gets passed onto you. Aptoide doesn’t charge this massive fee, and therefore can pass the savings onto you – instead of the cost!
You can install the Aptoide App on your Android phone, although for a while, if you are like me and play on iOS, you couldn’t get Aptoide. The process I outlined above essentially allows you to mimic an Android phone for the sake of purchasing things in Evony, from any device. That is why, when you are using Aptoide you may see a 15 minute timer at the top right – it basically means you have 15 minutes to make your purchase, or else the session will end. If you aren’t finished, you can of course start another session – but the point is, you aren’t suppose to game on it, just use it to purchase in-game items for cheaper.
Is Aptoide Legit?
My experience with Aptoide has been nothing but absolutely positive. Myself, my team (one of the best teams in C5), along side every other big team / player in Evony, all use Aptoide – because who doesn’t love up to a 25% discount? If you watch Evony on YouTube, or are a part of any community Discord servers, you have probably seen your favorite content creators talk about Aptoide before. It truly is a great way to make your money go further in Evony.
How do the Discounts Work?
Aptoide works on a tiered system, the more you spend, the more you save. There are 10 tiers, and each tier unlocking more bonuses and more discounts. At Tier 10 you get a base 20% discount, and combined with an Aptoide code you get another 5% discount. There has even been a few times in the past where Aptoide has offered up to 30% off!
The codes you can enter for a further 5% discount are usually given to Evony content creators, or to high tier Aptoide users. When you use someone’s code, they earn a small percentage from every purchase you make – at no expense to yourself. So if there is a particular player or content creator you want to say thanks to, then consider using there code!
