Determined to reform a stagnant kingdom, she championed Enlightenment policies, industrial growth, and naval expansion, transforming her realm into a dominant Mediterranean power.
When the French Revolution swept across Europe, Carolina acted with clarity and courage. She covertly aligned with Austria and Britain, forming an anti-French coalition to halt the tide of revolution at her kingdom’s borders. Under her leadership, Naples became a bastion of conservative resistance, repeatedly standing against the expansion of Napoleonic France.
