Evony Hypnos Dream Event

The Evony Hypnos Dream event has been a source of controversy within the Evony community – some players loving it, and some hating it, and it makes sense. On the surface, it appears to be a game of luck – but the only way to win is if you purchase packs. This guide will bust that myth, and show you how to be successful with Hypnos Dream without spending a penny.

What is the Evony Hypnos Dream Event?

Before I tell you how to succeed in the Evony Hypnos Dream event without spending any money, lets first cover the basics – what the event is. This event requires you to select 7 rewards – you will earn one of these rewards for each stage that you pass, upon successful completion of the full event.

The rewards are great, and include the likes of Tactic Scrolls, Blood of Ares, Dragon Coins, Treasure Boxes, and loads more!

Each round of the Evony Hypnos Dream event consists of 30 stages, or levels, for which three is four “dreams” you can click on. Three of the dreams will give you rewards, and one will contain a nightmare – giving you a 25% chance of getting a nightmare (these numbers aren’t confirmed, but ‘feel’ around this area and would make sense given the four options). If you get a nightmare, the round is over. This means that you have only a 0.0179% chance of getting all 30 correct in a row – good luck to you! You are given 10 shots a day at the event, so this increases your chance a bit, but the odds are still heavily stacked against you.

How to Beat the Odds in Evony Hypnos Dream

When you need 30 in a row to unlock the rewards you have earned, this seems impossible to win anything from this event… but that is not the case.

There are two things that change the odds, and put them back into the players favour:

1. When you log in, every day you can claim a “Hypnos’ Grass” – this item is used to ‘revive’ you from a nightmare, meaning you can come back into the round. Now note, you get one per day and it costs 2 to be revived from the nightmare. Regardless, make sure you claim these every day, as it will come in handy.

2. Each day, you are given a free daily revive chance – this is key to beating the odds of the Evony Hypnos Dream event.

These two things are nice in isolation, but the odds still appear to be heavily stacked against you, right? Well, you get 10 shots a day at the Evony Hypnos Dream event – here is three methods depending on your risk tolerance:

High Risk – The Gambler

Step One: Achieve a score of at least 17 in the Evony Hypnos Dream event before using your free daily revive chance. If you do not achieve this, try again the next day. There is roughly a 9.5% chance of achieving this score each day.

Step Two: Continue after using your free revive, you can expect (on average) to increase by 3 rounds.

Step Three: If you strike out again, simply press the back button or restart your game.

Step Four: Come back to the event tomorrow, when you will be given another free chance. Use this to start back where you left, and again improve your score by approximately 3 until you reach stage 30.

Approximately 70-75% chance you complete it once, with potential to complete it multiple* times if you get lucky.

Medium Risk – The Statistician

Step One: Achieve a score of at least 13 in the Evony Hypnos Dream event before using your free daily revive chance. If you do not achieve this, try again the next day. There is roughly a 27% chance of achieving this score in one round each day.

Step Two: Continue after using your free revive, you can expect (on average) to increase by 3 rounds.

Step Three: If you strike out again, simply press the back button or restart your game.

Step Four: Come back to the event tomorrow, when you will be given another free chance. Use this to start back where you left, and again improve your score by approximately 3 until you reach stage 30.

85-90% chance you complete it once, with potential to complete a second* round if you get lucky.

Low Risk – The Tortoise

Step One: Achieve a score of at least 7 in the Evony Hypnos Dream event before using your free daily revive chance. If you do not achieve this, try again the next day. There is roughly a 86% chance of achieving this score each day.

Step Two: Continue after using your free revive, you can expect (on average) to increase by 3 rounds.

Step Three: If you strike out again, simply press the back button or restart your game.

Step Four: Come back to the event tomorrow, when you will be given another free chance. Use this to start back where you left, and again improve your score by approximately 3 until you reach stage 30.

With the low risk method, you can expect to achieve one complete round for the event, with 99.99% chance of success. Chances are you will not be able to complete a second* round through this method.

Improving the Odds of the Evony Hypnos Dream Event

The odds listed above is for using the strategy only related to the daily free revive – it does not include the Hypnos’ Grass for simplicity. Please note, if you complete a round you will get Hypnos’ Grass which allows you to complete it a second time, which again gives you more rewards to complete a third time, although no more Hypnos’ Grass rewards past this.

Due to the fact this item cannot be claimed when you are in the middle of a round (i.e. if you strike out, use your daily free, then exit until tomorrow to claim your daily free bypass). This means that the riskier your strategy, the more you will benefit from this.

If you decide to wait until at least 17 as your threshold, it means you can complete your round faster, as it essentially gives +3 to your score – saving you a day. This means there is an increase in number of rounds you can complete. The same can be said for 13 threshold, but its not as severe as there will be less days that you can claim it.

Conclusion

Due to the end of round Hypnos’ Grass rewards, I personally will always go for the safest option – looking to get a score of at least 7 before advancing. This allows you to be in a solid position to complete three runs of the Evony Hypnos Dream event – whilst other strategies may allow for a fourth, its riskier and the trade-off is not there for me personally.
