Evony Totila’s Backstory

In Ostrogothic lore, one hero stands immortal – Totila.
In the 6th century, Totila fiercely defended his people’s dignity and freedom.

Ascending to the throne amid turmoil, Totila restructured the military and revolutionized tactics, transforming his soldiers into sharp spears that repeatedly repelled Byzantine invasions. As both a strategic commander and a frontline warrior, each of Totila’s victories proclaimed the indomitable spirit of his nation.

However, in the Battle of Taginae in 552, Totila’s journey was forever enshrined in a moment of radiant history. Confronted with overwhelming forces, Totila chose to fight gloriously to his last breath. Totila became a symbol of the relentless pursuit of freedom and defiance against oppression, igniting hope in his people’s hearts.
