Evony Victory Column Guide

The Victory Column provides various buffs that become stronger as the building is upgraded.

Construction of the Victory Column becomes available at Keep Level 35.

To upgrade your Keep to Level 36, you must first build the Victory Column to Level 1.

The Victory Column is also an important requirement for upgrading the Dragon Cliff and Council of State, as higher levels of these buildings require the Victory Column to be upgraded first.

To continue upgrading the Victory Column, you must also raise the level of your Holy Palace and develop sufficiently powerful generals. These requirements may include high General Power and upgraded Specialties.

Menu (Availability during upgrade, Unlock conditions)

All Victory Column menu features remain available while the building is being upgraded.

There are no additional menu unlock requirements, and all features are available from the beginning.

The Glory Achievement section displays several progression records, including:

Number of Generals listed in the General Ranking
Number of Civilization Equipment pieces owned
Number of times the Glory of Warrior or Lucky Favor effects have been triggered

These effects can trigger during PvP when both sides lose a certain combined amount of power:

Glory of Warrior: Triggered after losing more than 30M Power, rewarding a Runestone
Lucky Favor: Triggered after losing more than 35M Power, rewarding a Lucky Stone

The Ranking section allows you to view the same rankings available through the main Ranking menu.

Upgrade requirements (resources, etc.)

Upgrading the Victory Column requires increasing amounts of resources and construction time as its level rises.

The displayed Construction Time depends on your current Construction Speed bonuses, so the actual upgrade time may vary between players.

You can check your Construction Speed under the Administration section of the Monarch Details screen.

Requirement “Own some maxed Specialties Generals” can be a Purple General

The requirement to own a certain number of Generals with maxed Specialties may also be completed using certain Purple Historic Generals.

There have been mixed reports about whether this still works. Some players reported that Purple Generals were no longer being counted, while other reports as recently as July 2024 confirmed that they still worked. If a qualifying General is not counted, restarting the game may help.

The General must be a Purple Historic General, identified by the helmet icon.

Purple non-Historic Generals without the helmet icon do not qualify.

This appears to be related to their Specialty limits:

Purple Historic General: Specialties can reach Gold
Purple non-Historic General: Specialties only reach Orange

Purple Historic Generals have only 3 Specialties, so maxing all three is enough to count them as having maxed Specialties.

By comparison, a Gold Historic General has 4 Specialties, meaning all four must be fully upgraded.

Using Purple Historic Generals can therefore significantly reduce the resources needed to meet the Victory Column requirements.

Costs that can be reduced

Maxing the fourth Specialty of a Gold Historic General requires approximately:

Immortal Runestone: 12,700
Gems: 253,980

Using a qualifying Purple Historic General avoids these fourth-Specialty costs.

Recommended Generals

If you plan to use this method, consider Purple Historic Generals that remain useful elsewhere in the game:

Shimazu Yoshihiro: Useful for Food gathering
Gaius Marius: Useful for Ore gathering
Sanada Yukimura: Useful for monster debuffs, solo boss hunting, World Bosses, and as a Subordinate City Mayor

All three can be obtained from the Tavern.
