Evony Themistocles’ Backstory

Themistocles, a visionary politician and military leader, not only founded Athens’ naval power but also played a crucial role in promoting Athenian democracy Themistocles’ most celebrated moment came during the Battle of Salamis in 480 BC. As the Persian King led a massive fleet to invade Greece, Themistocles used his wisdom and strategic brilliance to lead Athens’ navy. Through brilliant strategic maneuvers and intelligence work, he orchestrated an ambush in the straits of Salamis, where the narrow waters neutralized the Persians’ numerical superiority. Drawing the Persian fleet into a deadly trap, Themistocles safeguarded Greece from conquest. Though he later faced envy and betrayal at the height of his power, Themistocles remained dignified and noble. His enduring legacy burns brightly in the hearts of the Greek people.
